The talent level in Missoula is just sick this year
1. The top returning running back in I-AA - Pre-Season All-American Lex Hilliard
2. A speedster transfer from I-A powerhouse Louisville - Reggie Bradshaw - to compliment the power running of Hilliard and also provide a slot threat ala Levander Seegars. Probably the fastest player in I-AA this year.
3. UW's most talented WR - Craig Chambers - will provide a vertical threat that will be unguardable because...
4. Rocket armed pro style QB Josh Swogger has the physical characteristics as well as the mental acumen and attitude to be perhaps a late first round pick in the NFL draft.
5. As if that's not enough, we are LOADED at WR - Allen, Troxel, Ferriter, Schulte, Bagley, Damn.
6. Is your head spinning yet? It will be once you are pancaked by our world class OL - anchored by preseason All-American C Jeff Marshall. Working with our nationally reknowned strength coach, this line has the potential to average 310-315 across the board - big AND athletic - many of these guys would start for BCS teams.
7. Do you want to talk defense? It all starts on the experienced interior DL with Kain and Mullins - both will be playing this at around 300 lbs of Fast and Nasty. Thinking about running the ball inside? Think again, buckwheat.
8. It doesn't get any better for you at DE. ANOTHER Preseason All-American - Mike Murphy - leads this group of monsters, including Dlouhy and Biermann, which by seasons end will be considered the greatest to ever play I-AA football. Pass rush, contain, pursuit, dropping into zone - how you gonna play us, kid?
9. LB - Naw, son, it ain't over. It ain't NEVER over for you. Put 20 lbs on these guys and they are your starting DE's. Take 20 lbs off and they are your starting DB's. Do you think this is a f**king game?!?
10. DB - Speed, talent, physicality and experience across the board. Thomas + Cooper + Harris + Jackson + Lebsock + depth = lockdown
11. Special Teams: Yep, it's tight with proven experience at P and PK (Johnson and Carpenter). Brady Green provides the spark on coverage teams as he has done for 3 years. Do you think you will see Bradshaw running back some kicks this year? LMAO @ you.
The beatdown that we are going to put on you this year will be, in a word, epic.

1. I think there is a possibility that Lex will be more of a, should I say, headache than a help to the griz offense this year.
2. If Kyle Ryan can keep up with him and make a joke about it (see: Ronbo) then I think Epi King will be up to the task.
3. Ineligable
4. Immoblie
5. Hate to break it to ya but those wide recievers you listed dont scare anyone.
6. NO. Good thing your stud C can block multiple players, that should work out well. If they can start for BCS teams.....what are they doing in Missoula?
7. The Cats dont care about your "fat and nasty" DL. Groves and Taito will run up the middle, around the corner, basically anywhere they want to.
8. Still not scared.
9. You could pretty much say that for any linebacker. Couldn't you? And yes, football is a game.
10. Not impressed.
11. Special is right.
Your entitled to your opinion. Too bad your wrong and the griz are not feared by anyone.

2. I don't reference Ronbo in making my posts. If you want to, that is your deal.
3. Chambers ineligible? Link? Source? Talking out of your ass based on internet speculation? Gotcha.
4. Swogger immobile? Link? Source? Talking out of your ass based on internet speculation? Gotcha.
5. Anyone of those guys would be four year starters at Ms. U. Chambers and Allen are I-A talent. Bagley had 50/500 as the second option in the least productive offense the Griz have fielded in 20 years. All Big Sky DC's are scared of this group; saying otherwise is pure denial.
6. I can tell this one really got to you. The group is athletic and has made tremendous gains in size and strength. This is fact taken directly from the updated roster showing the increase in size. And, yes, they do have the potential to average above 310 lbs by the start of the season. Please buy/rent a clue before posting in topics on which you have no knowledge. Why aren't they playing for BCS teams? Because they were good enough to play for Montana instead.
7. That was FAST and nasty, not fat. Mullins will pimpslap the entire MSU backfield, just like he pimpslapped that guy from JMU in the championship game in '04. Groves is a pretty good back, I will grant you that much. He might be able to crack the three deep at UM. We're not too worried about this guy, though:

Taito? Isn't that the midget from Fantasy Island?

8. Excellent tapout on your part. Probably the right move.
9. I didn't say they would be our starting DL/DB. I said they would be yours. Pleeze ba-lee dat.
10. Feel free to counter with how you feel your secondary is superior. Can't do it? Didn't think so.
11. MSU's lone bright spot on special teams this year is going to be not having to watch numbnuts banana kick the football on 4th down.
Next!

1. Yes, Hilliard’s good.
2. There aren’t enough footballs for both Hilliard and Bradshaw.
3. And why isn’t Chambers playing for UW anymore? Talent will only get you so far.
4. The reason he’s so inaccurate is he’s so slow getting set to throw that he just has to unload because some LB/DE is breathing down his neck. Swogger will complete more passes to coaches on the sidelines than his receivers.
5. Timmy from South Park can cover Bagley and Ferriter by himself. Chambers might be on the bench reading his Underwater Basket Weaving text book.
6. Worst O-line at UM in memory. (see item 4)
7. As long as punching the QB isn’t allowed Mullins will never be effective.
8. Let’s see, which joint will blow up on Murphy this year?
9. UM linebackers = Atari. MSU linebackers = Madden 2006.
10. You meant experience across the board. Slow, weak and about as talented a Paris Hilton should’ve been your other descriptors.
11. Bradshaw might be All-BSC as KR. He will be running back lots and lots of kicks this year. One for the opening kickoff of the game or second half, and 8-9 for TDs and FGs. You’re punt returner will be building a resume for a job as the Maytag repair man.

UM2002- Your fear is showing through. Why do you feel the need to come over here and tells us how good the griz will be this year? Shouldn't that be something that is taken for granted by those not fortunate enough to be friz fans. Keep reading your posts over and over to try and make yourself feel better about this season. I hope it works for ya.

1.Fades down the stretch
2.Lost his speed running away from the bench in Louisville
3.Usually the most talented kids stay playing at 1-A
4.If he has that talent would have showcased it better at WSU, look at the talent and NFL talent they have produced. Many more than UM
5.Thats why you had to rely so much on Hilliard last year and he faded.
6.does that stand for Betty Crocker Schools of cooking or what.
7.Hope they have improved as much as you say.
8.The best ever!!!!!! along with your other talent, I say undefeated and beat Iowa. You will be lucky to be the best the Griz have ever had.
9.And your point is, I would rather have someone that can just play linebacker even if you add 20lbs to him.
10.Good group but you give them the least credit.
11.Should be the best part of your game and boy will they get a lot of practice. Fielding kicks and punting the ball.

Chambers won't be playing this year. No way, no how. But there is a good amount of talent after him. The talent will just have to be used properly.
Taito won't be taking any train to Chatty, and will be on D as soon as Kramer gets another decent RB. No way the cats will make the playoffs this year. They couldn't even do it last year for god sake. With all kinds of talent at WR and a 4 year veteran at QB. Plenty of talent all over the field and the cats squandered it by loosing to PSU.
The cats just can't win the games they should win, and it happens every year...they loose to a team they should beat.

The 'Cats won't lose at home. Only three teams (CU, ISU, UM) can beat them on road. 8-3 at worst. Two (ISU, UM) of three teams are beatable, so either 9-2 or 10-1.JahGriz wrote:Chambers won't be playing this year.
If UM doesn't have Chambers it might be the end of the playoff streak.

It's too bad the other half of your brain doesn't work, because you'd be able to see out of both eyes and get the whole picture, and not just your blind eye view.JahGriz wrote:Even without Chamber the Griz have upgraded in a major way in the skill department on O. And the only significant loss on D was Saenz. He wasn't healthy most of the year.
No quesiton the Griz are in way better shape talent wise on both sides of the ball.
The same can't be said for the cats.
FTG!!

Being that this is the smack forum, a place I rarely frequent, I'll assume this is how things are done here. Normally I'd expect to hear reasons why I'm blind. I always figure if you loose your top 6 guys in receiving yards and the guy throwing them the ball, a 4 year starter, that things aren't all rosey.GOKATS wrote:It's too bad the other half of your brain doesn't work, because you'd be able to see out of both eyes and get the whole picture, and not just your blind eye view.JahGriz wrote:Even without Chamber the Griz have upgraded in a major way in the skill department on O. I like your D, but speculating that your O is going to be even close to what it was last year, especially your first 4 games seems a bit overly optimistic.
Correct me where I went wrong.
