Choate is a great coach and Nevada is lucky to have him. Couple comments about him not being able to find a QB. I think a few might be forgetting that Chris Murray helped with that mess.
Murray is one of the examples of a guy who wasn't a good QB. Great runner but couldn't throw at all.
But I agree Choate is a great hire for Nevada, I'll definitely be paying attention to their program now.
Murray could throw just fine. Better mechanics than a lot of FCS quarterbacks I've seen this year. His mental acumen just hadn't caught up to the speed of the game. Thus the "too bad he was thrown in early" and the "too bad he couldn't keep up in his studies and got disqualified".
Jonsen gets injured slipping on ice(and then turned out to not be good at throwing the ball). Bruggman was the workout(practice) warrior. Anyone know what happened to that guy that Tommy kind of replaced. Came from Washington and backed out of his commitment to go to Western Kentucky or something? A lot of bad luck with guys that were pretty highly rated. Heck we even all thought that Bauman(sp?) was going to be pretty special.
Grady Robison is the Washington kid who committed in 2019 and then got a late FBS offer at western Kentucky. HS class of 2020.
Last I saw he had entered the portal, I think last year.

Just googled Robison, looks like he's at Southern Utah now.

He was such a great motivator. I expect good things while he is at Nevada.

Hired Ioane as DC
Guess who’s going to raid Montana’s best recruits every year?

So nothing really new. Speaking of I wonder if Ioane was Hanks recruiting coordinator?

Saw that coming, after he stole Gregorak, you knew he was capable of grabbing Kane.
When Vigen moves on someday, I sure hope Kane is our next coach.

I'm not so sure. Montana is a really tough place to recruit. Tons of driving, bad airport connections, etc. Its an 8 hour flight to get from Reno to Bozeman & the teams are so small there might only be one or two contacts. He could fly to Dallas, Houston, LA, Seattle, etc in half the time and make double the contacts.
Theres a reason talented MT kids dont get a ton of attention.

It used to be that way. We currently have a bunch of posters in another thread getting excited that we might get a legacy kid back from the portal that went to BYU. The top 2 recruits in the state this year are headed to Nebraska and Boise St and another one is headed to Fargo. 2023 Montana had recruits go to Boston College and Oregon St. The days of the best talent staying in state exclusively are over.

For deep recruiting I think you are correct. But the top 2-3 players do get out of state attention, and Choate will certainly make time for them too.

Just looked at Nevadas current roster and it seems they aren’t shy about looking all over the country and the world for talent.

I suspect Jeff (and Kane) will find more Nevada kids that will now choose to play for the ‘Pack. There hasn’t been much incentive to go there. Nevada has a population of over 3 million and is fairly similar to Montana outside of Reno and Las Vegas — ranching country. There are some good players with good work ethics in the small towns (but of which there are not very many), weather is mostly favorable, and high school football is alive and well. Good luck, Coach Choate — since I now live in Nevada I’d like to have another program worth following.

Has he started recruiting cheerleaders from the Bunny Ranch?

With some people, it’s better to leave before you run your welcome out.
Just a general statement.
I don’t think he and Leon got on very well though.
Yeah I think that's true. Choate doesn't have a lot of kind words to say about MSU behind closed doors and it's too bad.
Man, talk about a curiosity peaker.
No kidding. We're going to need a bit more detail on this.
griz fans; keeping it classy and gracious in winning since ... well, never.

I wonder if Udy will be the O.C. He kind of owes him one after he brought him here for that role and never got him there.

Probably a position coach. Still will pay more than MSU.

It will be lots cheaper to live in the Reno, Sparks, Carson City area in that order. Average home prices will be at least $150,000 less.

Udy will not be a coach at Nevada. The OC will be someone that Choate is very familiar with and many not be released for awhile.

Hmmm, it sounds like you know something? If you've heard, I guess this means it's someone that is waiting until after the season (So one of the four FCS teams, or a bowl team) to announce.
Great time to be a BOBCAT!

Either Kane or Clay Bignell would make me very happy.
