WBB vs North Texas

Post by rfischer94 » Thu Dec 21, 2023 8:46 pm

Entertaining first half. Cats started hot on offense but the Man Green tightened up on defense and slowed down the scoring for us. Cats played some good defense as well - check out this block by my favorite defender Madison Hall!

Unbelievable job by the officiating crew. The Lady Cats are getting HOMERED on their own court!

A splendid win by the Cats. Quite a few played very well, Limardo with 25 Points. I believe that when needed Dykstra, will take over a game.

way to go Cats! Solid defense and Janssen was on fire the last 4 minutes of the game. Sure could tell they liked being back home.

Had to miss this one due to other commitments. Looking forward to watching the replay. North Texas isn't a brand name, but that's one of the more impressive wins for a Big Sky team this year.

This team has great athletes and size. Great win ladies!

While registering my vehicles the assessor stated "I have had both Cat and Griz students and alums work for me and the Griz end up working under the direction of the Cats."

Lexi Deden has been a favorite player of mine from the first day she stepped onto the court as a Bobcat. Her injury absolutely sucks but if there's a silver lining it might be that all the other players have really upped their game to fill the void of Lexi not being there. Also I think the added time Hein is getting should pay huge dividends down the road.
Beating a team as physical, athletic, and fast as N TX, was a great accomplishment and step forward for the Cats.

Yeah. Picton might not have the size but she definitely punches above her weight and height and is playing good ball for a freshman.

Lexi is one of my favorites as well! This team has teuly stepped up without her on the court!

I was at the game and was impressed by the athletic ability of North Texas and their ability to take it to the hole and also their intense defensive pressure.
If you look at their record of 10-1 coming into tonight's game, many of their wins were dominating.

I thought this win was very impressive for the Lady Cats and they should be very competitive in the Big Sky.

Another observation: this team appears to have a very good chemistry. It's a fun team to watch and also the crowd was very loud and supportive tonight.

Excellent win, excited to see the team in person next Friday for the conference opener! They're playing some great defense, that's 4 games in a row holding opponents in the 50s. Will win a lot of games if they can keep that up.

I think last nights game will be seen as a watershed moment. Not only winning, but beating North Texas soundly, should give our ladies the confidence that they can be a top team in the league. A comment was made about chemistry. Not only do the Cats look to be playing well as a team, I see a lot more smiles on the bench from Coach B.

With respect to comments about Deden, yes, she was special from the day she hit the floor her freshman year. MadJack is still my favorite and I’m so thankful she came back for one more year. She brings a lot of needed leadership to this young team.

Limardo was on fire last night and we can't expect her to have that kind of shooting performance every night so need to see continued improvement from Lindsey and Brooke and the other ladies. It's a fun team to watch for sure. Come out and support them.

Jack has been awesome. We also enjoy watching her husband in the stands. He gets pretty animated. I swear he must be as tired as she is after the game. :) =D^

We miss Lexi, bigtime. I truly think she was on a path to have a shot to win the MVP award. With her out, the other players have benefited from increased usage. I think the one error the team makes with Lexi on the floor is attempting to force the ball into the middle and creating some unnecessary turnovers. Lexi is double- and triple-teamed constantly and patience is sometimes needed to let her maneuver to an advantage. Or take advantage of the open player. If she were able to hypothetically come back now, I think the whole team would be better than before. I wonder if a team would sometimes benefit by leaving a star player behind on the beach in Cancún for a couple of weeks and learning how to play without them. If the rest of the team can become more dangerous, so does the star.

If this warm weather holds and the roads stay bare and dry, we’re going to try to get over to Flagstaff to watch the game vs. NAU and support the ‘Cats. 💙 💛 😺
