I don’t know if things have changed, but I know for a fact that Choate and Pease were on very bad terms for a while. I’d be pretty surprised if he went to Nevada.

I agree with ya, I think he is pretty overrated. But that is the rumor out there…. Just a rumor at this point, who knows if it’s true.

Well, it’s not like Choates strength was recruiting a QB. It could be very likely.

And even if they plan to go with AhYat next year, why not keep McD as the backup? Why send him packing? They know Vidlak ain't it and you can't go into a season with 1 dude.

Seems a lot more likely to me than the idea that big NIL offers are rolling in for a guy whose offense put up 3 points in the Championship game. He wasn't necessarily sent packing, perhaps he wants to start next year and will need to move to do so. I think their coaches quite possibly decided a while ago that Ah Yat will start next year. People here are just creating fantasy scenarios that this is somehow related to Bergen but I highly doubt it is.

Maybe with the seniors graduating, and whomever else is leaving, including, possibly, a coach, he just thinks his chances are better somewhere else. Or... perhaps he cares about graduating with a degree that actually will merit him a career

I'm with you. He's not bruggman either but that is more the mold here. Seasoned guy, could be a bridge to where they're trying to go at QB, maybe helps entice others. A guy can dream, can't he?

Reminds me a bit of Matt McKay. Clearly not good enough to start and when told he would be relegated to a backup role opted to hit the transfer portal. Only difference is the Cats had someone on the roster that was clearly better. Not sure the gris do otherwise they would have been starting already.

LOTS of "he wasn't that good." Ironic, on a message board front page that had, on Monday, a thread titled "Big Cliff appreciation thread." He is not, objectively, a top-tier qb. But he just took them to Frisco. He just lost his first game as a starter. Good grief. Today could be a real interesting day over there, IMO.

I highly doubt that happened a day after the natty. I could certainly see Vidlak jumping in the portal for that reason, but not McD. But who knows.

This will be Micky D's 5th (6th if you count the verbal to Southern) team in his career. Greener grass elsewhere type of guy. My opinion is he sees his success this year as a way to leverage a FBS starting job and then the NFL. How much do you want to bet a year from now, where ever he is and however the season went we see a McKay type announcement declaring for the NFL draft with a near zero shot of getting one. I highly doubt his declaration has anything to do with coaching telling him he's #2 next season or an incoming transfer. This is about what or where he is going.
