Lady Cats in Missoula
Should be a good rematch today. I'm confident Coach Bin has the best game plan. It'll be up to the girls to execute. It's been 4 weeks and 7 games since we played them at home. The freshman class is further along in their development; we have all available players, granted only 10, and we had a week to prepare. If the ladies can execute the game plan we should walk out victorious! Of course I'll give all the home court advantage to UM... but that's only one factor.
Go Cats!

I hope the Gris don’t have their goon squad try to take out any of our players this time
If you're looking for someone with a little authority, I'm your man. I have as little as anyone!

I suspect they will play just as physical. Hopefully the refs will take notice of the usual suspects.Joe Bobcat wrote: ↑Sat Feb 17, 2024 11:10 amI hope the Gris don’t have their goon squad try to take out any of our players this time

Re: Lady Cats in Missoula
My thoughts...
1) It is crucial that Dykstra gets to the line early, and that the refs are calling early fouls down low... MD gets frustrated if she is getting hacked down low and not getting the calls SHE feals like she should get. MOST of this is because of her age, and only being a sophomore. It is really hard to learn from not getting calls, and to keep fighting... Especially when your are the only real inside presence because of injuries. If she can get a flow going, and get to the line, the Cats will be in good shape...
2) Janssen/Hall effect. With a raucous crowd, and a VERY young team around them. It will be imperative that Hall and Janssen play the role of the Seniors... Keep the team grounded and focused through the ups and downs... They did this amazingly in Bozeman. If they can again in Zoola, that will be big.
3) Better "man" defense inside... Cats CAN NOT double down on the inside and leave open 3s... That happened in Bozeman, and they got lucky that UM went cold. If UM can beat them inside, then hats off to them, but Cats need to focus on outside defense, and MAKE THEM WIN INSIDE..

After watching three interviews with Natalie Picton this week, she might soon become this fans favorite player. Her bubbly personality off the court was such a surprise to her on the court game face! Hope she and the other freshman have great games and relieve some of the pressure on the seniors and that one sophomore. This game will be a tough one.

Point 3 is, in my opinion the most crucial! Leaving open threes will kill the Cats if the gris get going. It's hurt us every game where the opposing team finds the net at the arc!SACCAT wrote: ↑Sat Feb 17, 2024 2:07 pmMy thoughts...

As for playing in the Adams center it will be interesting to see how the team does. It's likely the noisiest they will hear all season; and for some players I think it gets to them a little, but I'll argue it will have little impact on some of our freshmen. I think Natalie, Melea and Brook thrive in those types of environments. Ella & Lea I'm not so sure of but as you said, hopefully if needed they get help from the rest of the team.

Great job on the broadcast.
Poor contrast on the cameras, biased announcers and NO SCORE TICKER???? WTF
Just going with ESPN game cast, no redpath.

I think we need Ty Gregorak alongside Ben for the these games. That would be much more enjoyable.

Re: Lady Cats in Missoula
Griz 1st foul was a touch foul on the floor with a few seconds left in the 1st when Jack was driving to the hoop, forcing an inbound. A few seconds later, Jack gets called for a ticky-tack in the backcourt giving the gris two FT with a second left. Timing was convenient on both.
Getting hammered down low, no calls, but probably not going to get much love when taking wild shots.

At 3:50 left in 2nd quarter, Eagen get shoved to the ground after a whistle. Wanna guess who did it?

Re: Lady Cats in Missoula
Anyone else wonder how the griz basically haven’t fouled the whole game??? We haven’t shot one free throw in this game, and they had zero team fouls in the third quarter.
