Don’t have to wonder. Situation normal in Missoula,saintcat40 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 17, 2024 4:16 pmAnyone else wonder how the griz basically haven’t fouled the whole game??? We haven’t shot one free throw in this game, and they had zero team fouls in the third quarter.

Struggling to figure our game plan; it just didn't look like we had a lot to execute and defense was below our standard!

That's not the problem defense is killing them that switching is not working our center should be switching on a guard on offense no movement

Embarrassing all the way around. Not sure what the game plan was on either side of the ball but the players struggled to execute with any consistency. Really disappointed that ours seniors and experienced players performed so poorly in a rivalry game.

Worst loss of the year. Pretty discouraging. Lady Griz 14-27 from 3. If you have that kind of shooting on the perimeter and good post play then you have a very good team. Seems like we are losing momentum at the wrong time of the season.

Re: Lady Cats in Missoula
Not sure if we execute the "dribble drive" offense that we'll. Maybe we would be better setting some screens and try and open up some drives to the bucket rather than going 1 on 1.

Yikes, that was a good old beat down. Their 3 pointers where devastating while we have little, if any, long range threats to counter with (today or otherwise). Not a good showing from the seniors.

Re: Lady Cats in Missoula
The Ugly: The Missoula announcers, the refs who called literally all the fouls one way in a pretty evenly ugly game, the Iowa State transfer Espenmiller-McGraw continuing to throw players down — are these refs for real?
The Bad: Our offense continues to be catch, look, look, dribble, attempt to drive, pass if there are no other options. The gris were playing 3-4 out, 1-2 in. We often continue to draw all 10 players a full step inside the circle so the middle is too congested to make an offensive play. We’ve fallen in love with trying to draw fouls, to the detriment of ball movement, and when there are no whistles …
The Good: Crisp ball movement two times lead to open three point attempts and 6 points.

Ben Creighton called every Bobcat Football game on ESPN+. Color gal Krista is a gris homer from way back though.Bobcat4Ever wrote: ↑Sat Feb 17, 2024 11:56 pmThe Ugly: The Missoula announcers, the refs who called literally all the fouls one way in a pretty evenly ugly game, the Iowa State transfer Espenmiller-McGraw continuing to throw players down — are these refs for real?

The only teams that can be considered as good at running dribble drive well are teams that can just run one facet of it well because I’ve yet to see a team run it fully. Primarily it’s just run in order to dump off to a post. Few players have the skill, strength or ability to kick the ball out on the drive.
MSU - 16 team National Champions (most recent 2024); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

Tom, that’s a great point on dribble-drive. It’s not easy to drive a lane and make a hard pass to the corner or even back to the wing. It also requires great synchronization in that at least one defender must be drawn to help — and the shooters must be positioning themselves simultaneously to provide an open passing lane. I was watching this last aspect yesterday and the shooters were sometimes out of position to receive a kick out.TomCat88 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 18, 2024 11:07 amThe only teams that can be considered as good at running dribble drive well are teams that can just run one facet of it well because I’ve yet to see a team run it fully. The gris were having great success with good perimeter passing, ball reversals, and screens. They shot the three-ball in Missoula exceptionally well, but it’s easier when you have a good look.
I enjoy being able to discuss strategy with other fans. Love Bobcat Nation. Now on to the good stuff. Gris or no gris, I remain an unabashed fan of this program.
Go, ‘Cats! It’s a difficult year with injuries, only three upper-class active players, and also two new assistant coaches. I have no doubt that Coach Bin will get this sorted. One has to look no further than the weekend they swept Eastern Washington and Idaho on the road to see the capability this team has. This group has a bright future and that future may be closer than it seems. I thoroughly enjoy watching them and wish them all the best!

She is the dirtiest player in the BSC. This is not just about the refs, this is an indictment gris athletics. Holsinger and his staff cannot be ignorant of her play and tolerate, at best, or encourage, at worst, the cheap shots — one of which put KJ in the hospital.Bobcat4Ever wrote: ↑Sat Feb 17, 2024 11:56 pmThe Ugly: The Missoula announcers, the refs who called literally all the fouls one way in a pretty evenly ugly game, the Iowa State transfer Espenmiller-McGraw continuing to throw players down — are these refs for real?

And get ready for Krista to be the color announcer @ the Big Sky Conference. Nine games of rehashing her career.Bocephus wrote: ↑Sun Feb 18, 2024 7:21 amBen Creighton called every Bobcat Football game on ESPN+.
