Reading through the USU forum a bit this morning...I thought Bobcat fans were pessimistic about the MSU basketball program between 1996 and 2022, but these guys take "doom and gloom" to a completely different level!

Re: Danny & The Aggies
Does anyone else remember when Danny was an assistant on Huse's staff and Huse told him he wasn't ready to be a head coach? And how Huse is entirely out of the coaching profession and now selling insurance?
At the time it *might* have been true, but with the benefit of hindsight you can't help but wonder if Sprinkle was actually ready to lead a program knowing what we do now about each's path.

Huse was just awful. Took a long time to recover from that mess.Cledus wrote: ↑Sun Mar 17, 2024 9:32 amDoes anyone else remember when Danny was an assistant on Huse's staff and Huse told him he wasn't ready to be a head coach? Re: Danny & The Aggies
I don't recall if he was a serious candidate at the time, but it's interesting to speculate on what would've happened if Danny had been hired instead of Brian Fish after Huse left. My guess is that Danny was ultimately hired at exactly the right time, as he had been able to accumulate extensive assistant experience with several different head coaches that had to help him navigate all the different roles and responsibilities a head coach takes on. He also definitely benefitted from Fish (and Haslam) leaving him with Harald Frey to play PG for one year while Xavier Bishop sat out after transferring, and also a pretty decent incoming recruit in Jubrile Belo.

Huse wouldn’t know what leadership looks like if it hit him in the face.Cledus wrote: ↑Sun Mar 17, 2024 9:32 amDoes anyone else remember when Danny was an assistant on Huse's staff and Huse told him he wasn't ready to be a head coach? Coach Sprinkle was going places before he ever took the job at MSU. What an amazing story to watch unfold. Proud of what he has done already.

Seattle sports are currently speculating that Sprinkle would be a potential hire for the Huskies

Montana Sports reporter Grace Lawrence is in Indianapolis and asked Danny Sprinkle about Montana State.

Will certainly be rooting for Utah State tonight. I wish we could have kept coach Sprinkle. His dad was my football coach in HS back in Billings. Good coach and a really good history teacher.

Re: Danny & The Aggies
Utah State in major attack mode tonight. They're not blowing this lead, and will probably increase it. Darius Brown is just magnificent. Great's got his work cut out for him against Purdue on Sunday.

Re: Danny & The Aggies
These announcers just refuse to mention MSU. Lol.
"Bringing Brown and Osobor with him..."
Set it up perfectly but nope. Kept MSU out of his mouth.

Don't let this distract you from the fact that the griz blew a 22-0 lead.

Purdue is an 11.5 point favorite against Montana State Southern
I’d have Great O guard Edey and I think Brown is the better point guard, should be a close game
Danny is being mentioned for the Oklahoma State as well, I’m guessing he’ll be the Huskies head coach in a few weeks!

Washington is a mess. No AD, last guy there less than a year, new FB and BB coaches, new conference. I do think he will stay is west where his recruiting ties are.allcat wrote: ↑Sat Mar 23, 2024 11:15 amProbably already a done deal or they would have had a coaching announcement. I hope Danny and his boys brat Purdue, if for no other reason that I'm tired of the media fawning over how great Edety and Purdue are.

I am curious how much the officials will protect Edey.
