Re: Eddie turner?
Is it possible that Turner entered the portal as a preemptive move when coach Logie was in the mix for the WSU job and could he maybe withdraw from the portal now that Logie is staying? That would be somewhat similar to what RFIII did last year and then returned to the team.
Turner improved through the year and he could get even better next year in Logie's system.

Negative. I’ve heard that ET3 is trying to “chase a bag” (i.e $$$). While I suppose he can still come back, I would assume that he might not be welcomed back by the team.Joe Bobcat wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2024 9:17 amIs it possible that Turner entered the portal as a preemptive move when coach Logie was in the mix for the WSU job and could he maybe withdraw from the portal now that Logie is staying? This is purely a NIL and money play. Not for academics, not because of the Logie rumors. The timelines do not add up. Like I said in a previous post; it takes longer than a couple hours for a player to enter the portal.

Re: Eddie turner?
Did he make any all conference teams?. Seems odd that a big sky conf player not in top tier would get a large NIL deal somewhere. Didn't pmay much in 4 years due to illnesses, gets an option closer to home and bails for NIL. I though he interned onWall Street. Seems like finishing grad school or just getting a job would serve him better.

Some teams give the entire roster NIL deals. Maybe he's looking for a team with a larger base payment / signing bonus.tetoncat wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2024 1:17 pmDid he make any all conference teams?. Re: Eddie turner?
I get that, but having sat for so long and finally getting a chance to play just seems odd. Maybe he is looking and if doesn't get something worthwhile will just be done with basketball?coloradocat wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2024 2:58 pmSome teams give the entire roster NIL deals. Its why he ended up in WVU instead of Utah St. But ET3 is no Raquan. Maybe there is money out there but I seriously doubt its 6 figures that Battle got.BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Thu Apr 04, 2024 6:51 amUhhh…Battle did.Cledus wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2024 8:30 pmIf Raequan couldn’t cash out I don’t know why Turner thinks he will.Desert_Bobcat wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2024 10:44 amNegative. Re: Eddie turner?
I doubt money is a huge concern for Eddie given that he has a degree in architecture from an Ivy League school. Of course he isn't going to get a huge NIL deal, so maybe it's more about moving closer to home or getting a slightly better NIL amount to help pay the bills for one more year of basketball until he can start his professional career.

No no guys. He went to WVU for mental health reasons I was told. Had nothing to do with more NIL money than he would've got at Utah State.91catAlum wrote: ↑Thu Apr 04, 2024 11:33 amBattle got 250K in NIL money at WVU, allegedly.Cledus wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2024 8:30 pmIf Raequan couldn’t cash out I don’t know why Turner thinks he will.Desert_Bobcat wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2024 10:44 amNegative. I just shake my head everytime. His reasoning for picking West Virginia never quite added up to me. Hahahahalutecat wrote: ↑Thu Apr 04, 2024 11:49 amNo no guys. Yea, I heard that West Virginia is the place to go to work on mental health. It's obviously the reason the coal mines are such a rehabilitative attraction.

Yes, he did get a lot but it was still quite a bit short of what he was promised if what I’ve read is correct.BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Thu Apr 04, 2024 6:51 amUhhh…Battle did.Cledus wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2024 8:30 pmIf Raequan couldn’t cash out I don’t know why Turner thinks he will.Desert_Bobcat wrote: ↑Wed Apr 03, 2024 10:44 amNegative. Battle shouldn’t have made it onto a basketball court this last year. No reason to feel sorry for someone who is willing to lie about their mental health to chase $$$$

Re: Eddie turner?
If you do some digging there is a reason Battle and his team claimed a mental health transfer. One of the reasons being it’s the hardest to disprove (and who knows maybe he did make a really good connection with an assistant coach at WVU who made a significant impact on his mentals).
But if you look at the majority of players who transfer more than 1 time you’ll find that many of them claim the 2nd or 3rd time was due to their “mental health” (like I said, really hard to prove if it’s true or not). NCAA can’t really do anything to confirm or deny the existence of mental health issues. Hate the game not the player
The NCAA could have avoided this whole mess they caused in the first place by placing restrictions and clearly defining how schools and athletes could use NIL. They could have also looked at the portal and clarified rules on players transferring after their coach leaves the program for another job, among other things they need to address with the portal. Those would have been proactive things. But honestly, when was the last time the NCAA willingly did something proactively?

They say whatever their lawyers/representatives tell them to say in order to play the soonest. Don’t blame the kids, blame the NCAA.
