While MSU is doing these upgrades. U of M is over there, blowing up a bubble. The walk from their locker room to the inflatable, will be fun in November.
And Bobby H. is doing his best ‘hawk tuah’.

Love that the MSU men’s and women’s fishing teams pond will remain close by as well. The talk of moving it several miles away didn’t seem fair to them. Win win for all

Apparently that’s a thing
Yes, it’s a huge thing. Alabama has 6000 high school teams. There are full ride scholarships to a ton of universities. There is a National Championship. I don’t even know if huge is a big enough word. Getting a bass fishing scholarship is extremely difficult.

Just sitting here scratching my head about webcams on construction sites. I'm guessing it needs to be written into the contract or the IFB/RFP regarding who will set it up and maintain it. Has anyone seen this language for the IPF at MSU? I'm guessing not, since it'd already be posted in here. Has it been?

Also, I'm not sure what the risks, if any, of having one are. Perhaps contractors don't trust their employees to not be goofing off or concerns of individuals "doing things" to embarrass the company and/or the school.

Anyway, considering all the work going on, I'd think the reward is greater as the contractors and school get to show off a huge project that they're involved in.

MSU - 16 team National Champions (most recent 2024); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

Seems to me like it would be a lot of work and hassle for not very much benefit. If the webcam stops working or gets pointed in the wrong direction somehow, people will complain. If the view is blocked by something, people will complain. If the camera isn't regularly adjusted to give the best view of the work happening currently, people will complain. And since this isn't a direct improvement to the stadium, the potential audience who will want to sit there watching a big rectangular building go up is likely very small. I know I wouldn't, and personally I'm fine with the occasional photos posted here or on social media by MSU or someone else.

But then again, what do I know as someone who ONLY YESTERDAY learned what "Hawk Tuah" means.

I know there would be an audience for an IPF construction webcam and any cam would, most likely, be set up and maintained by the athletic department, not the construction company, just like the BAC cam and new turf cam were. All you have to do is look at the number of views on this thread and the new scoreboard construction thread to see that people are interested in that stuff. The athletic department even commented on how many people watched the BAC cam.
Any webcam would be fairly easy to set up on the back-side press box windows. Now, whether the cam would stay in place is another story with games going on this Fall and other stuff happening in the building. Yes, the BAC cam was moved around but that was because it was placed in the press box windows and there was a lot of off-season activity going on there with practices and Spring ball, but for the most part it stayed in place. I think the BAC cam was put up partly because of the lost 2020 season as well, there wasn’t much going on sports-wise and MSU was trying to keep people interested in stuff. Bethany might have had something to do with it too. She was pretty active in taking care of and interacting with the fan base. Anyway, I doubt we will seem an IPF construction cam now. MSU hasn’t put out much information on these projects, just a social media video here and there. Most of these project updates have been from people here on BN. I do think MSU is missing a good fan engagement opportunity and earning a little money by not putting up a cam, but that’s just the way it goes.

BTW, the weather cam on top of the press box just takes still shots not video, so any cam on the IPF construction could be set up to do the same thing.

And they could monetize it. They're not going to make a ton of money, but they could make enough to pay a student to set it up and make sure it's working. One business could pay $1,000 over the next 6 months to put their watermark on it...or even show a quick ad every time somebody brings up the feed.

So at the Lewistown coaches tour I sat at a table with a assistant AD, I mentioned this and he was adamant that thy would not have on. It seems that during the building of the BAC there was this "one guy" that would call every time it got pointed wrong, because he was doing a video of some kind. It was this AAD's job to go point the camera in the right direction. I told him the video was great and a great piece of PR for the program but he was having none of it and said absolutely there would not be a camera on the IPF.

Good guy though.

While MSU is doing these upgrades. U of M is over there, blowing up a bubble. The walk from their locker room to the inflatable, will be fun in November.
And Bobby H. is doing his best ‘hawk tuah’.
Has anyone created a @BobbyHauckTuah burner account on Twitter yet?
If that isn’t on a sign at Cat/gris this year what are even doing?
I must be out of the loop, but what the heck are you guys talking about?
Dangit! I have a great comment for this post but I can't use it. BN being PG rated an all. Anyway, just google "Hawk Tuah."
I was a little bit afraid I'd be in Bobcat Nation Jail for my original comment. But I figured I would be out before the first game.
This is without a doubt my favorite run of replies I’ve ever seen in the off season.
Need help coordinating your D? @BobbyHauckTuah can lend a helping hand.
This absolutely needs to gain WAYYYYY MORE traction.

Hating the griz since 02.

Can confirm, had the same discussion at the beginning of the year (likely with the same person) regarding if there would be a camera for the scoreboard.
Well done @AFCAT
