Naw, I’ve seen posts like that for 15+ years. Kids that live in the hood would take all the pictures with their new chargers after they committed. Nothing new here.

Still three QBs on the offer list and one QB/WR. Vigen and Williams-Hall are the only two true QBs the Cats probably have a shot at though. Williams-Hall has been on the Bobcat RADAR since after his Sophomore year and is also being looked at by the gris. I doubt the Cats have a shot at Gomez. Gomez committed to Fresno State but is still posting about offers from other schools, including MSU, so I don't know what's up there. Clark, the QB/WR, has a Navy offer pinned on his page, so he probably isn't coming to MSU. He looks more like a WR prospect than a QB though.

Gomez essentially decommitted from Fresno.

Whether any of the QB offers are still valid after Warren committed, only the coaches know.

Yup. However, if you can sign two scholarship worthy QB’s in the same class, you do it, right? Which one do you take?

I’ve heard story of two QBs being on campus during same weekend visit. One committed and became a Bobcat legend and the other played in the NFL. I can’t confirm the authenticity of said story, maybe others can.

Naw, I’ve seen posts like that for 15+ years. Kids that live in the hood would take all the pictures with their new chargers after they committed. Nothing new here.

Well you're obviously paying closer attention than me. For some reason this seems more brash than the older videos. I just know if this kid signed with MSU and did that I'd have my mind ALMOST made up about him before he ever set foot on campus.

Yup. What a D-bag. I don’t care if he is a 5 star recruit, after seeing that I would not want him in bozeman.

Open to the highest bid. Oh, I may need to attend classes, next. I just tossed in the last thought. It just sounds like he may not be interested in a higher edjumacation.

He's getting roasted in the commitment comments. Some of the responses are pretty funny.

I'm just going to put this down as a commitment to Cornell. I can read the post though and that he is "Committed to the admissions process."

That's a pretty funny little line down there. Schools should start saying COMMITTED*

What kind of vetting do recruiters do on the academic side? I know the bar is pretty low to get into college and there are tricks to getting dummies in but have there been examples of guys that can't clear those hurdles after committing/signing?

The Cats had someone a couple years ago that had to take some classes to be eligible to attend MSU. He came to Bozeman, was around the team as much as possible during that time. I cant remember who it was or where in Bozeman he attended to become eligible.

I’m fine with bringing in a player who may need help academically if he has character and a willingness to study. Some players may be the first in their family to attend college which puts them at a disadvantage and would never have had the opportunity to better themselves were it not for athletics. After all, what really is the mission of our academic institutions? If the guy is a pompous ass then don’t take the chance.

I know for a fact that we recently had a student athlete that was exactly as you described above that was a very successful player and student and graduated with a useful degree and now has a good well-paying job. I think good character and work ethic are very important for it to have a chance of a successful outcome.
