I've only done this since 2015 but Havre has had several outstanding football players that either chose another sport or went Frontier. Would've been interesting to see what Dane Warp would've looked like at QB in a college development program. Miles City has had a kid to circle as a potential PWO about every year but no real blue chippers. Lewistown has produced really good frontier players as of late since that program has been turned around. At the end of the day, its still Dillon and Billings Central as the primary FCS hubs. Some other Western and Eastern schools may enter the chat every so often but BC and Dillon have consistently put kids on Cat or Griz rosters for decades.lutecat wrote: ↑Mon Jul 22, 2024 2:29 pmVim, when's the last time you had a Havre kid on your list? The Dettrick kid? The only reason i rememeber that is I was in Middle School with his dad. And before that? Marc M? When you stop and think about it Havre really isn't a place with alot of talent coming out of it. Class A. Maybe should be? I don't really remember seeing many names from Havre. But then honestly I would expect more names from Lewistown and Miles city and neither is a place that I can think of many if any.

That could pay off for them or it could hurt them. In a perfect world you'd want to develop players and get them fully bought in to the program, but we all know it's not a perfect world in college sports. For a program that built itself off being the best at recruiting Montana kids, it sure seems to me like a recipe for disaster. I personally don't think Hauck is all that interested in getting players who can contribute in 2-3 years because he'll be retired by then.

How to spot a gris troll pretending to be a Bobcat fan.

Last one from Miles City that I can think of was under Kramer. Tight end. Can't think of his name ATM...lutecat wrote: ↑Mon Jul 22, 2024 2:29 pmVim, when's the last time you had a Havre kid on your list? The Dettrick kid? I forgot about Dane Warp. That's right. I wonder if having Souers up there and maybe doing some camps help develop talent.VimSince03 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 22, 2024 3:40 pmI've only done this since 2015 but Havre has had several outstanding football players that either chose another sport or went Frontier. Thank you, correctamundo! IIRC, he caught a critical TD pass in the Walkup Skydome to beat NAU for the first time in many years at NAU. Or maybe it was Bostic! Kramer recruited some really good TE's, no doubt about that.BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2024 10:04 amKyle Begger.grizzh8r wrote: ↑Wed Jul 24, 2024 12:56 amLast one from Miles City that I can think of was under Kramer. Begger was instrumental in MSU's 2010 win in Missoula. His blocking out of the backfield was a key early in the game.grizzh8r wrote: ↑Sat Jul 27, 2024 6:55 pmThank you, correctamundo!
