Hmmm... I'm all for competition but that seems a bit strange to still be bringing in two new kickers... and they're not even on campus yet? I do understand with kickers it's not like they need to absorb the entire playbook or anything but just getting here and getting acclimated, bonding with players and coaches, etc. Kickoff against NM in 4 weeks.
Might be walk-ons that can't practice until school starts?
They also aren't even going to kick until next week so not a huge rush to get here early. Sounds like that timing is due to practicing on grass without goal posts this week, not when the new guys can show up.

More placekickers competing

Vigen is following this young man.

The other may be his nephew.
Sanstead (sp?) is still listed on the roster. Two new ones would imply it’s not him. With MSU’s roster though, who knows? Can’t trust it!

Kicking is going to be a problem this year. I like that they are still looking for kicking talent.

Hating the griz since 02.

DANG! Seems like that RB room is loaded with talent and depth. Vigen talked about this, pretty much calling every player out by name, and you could tell he's pretty happy with that group. This group can do a LOT of different things.

Julius Davis
Scottre Humphrey
Jared White
Elijah Elliott
Adam Jones
Colson Coon
Marquis Johnson
Unterrio Latin-Henley

Great time to be a BOBCAT!

You could be correct about Golan. Played in my high school conference and he has a BIG leg, literally. I know he hasn’t signed anywhere but still works with a coach. Also had a story yesterday on instagram and tagged MSU football. I think this kid has a very high ceiling.

Just checked on instagram and he has the cats tagged in his bio, so this sounds set in stone.

Anyone know more about Latin-Henley? Dude had some big FBS offers (guessing no $) but chose cats… I guess running it like we do can attract some talent.

Vigen and at least one player mentioned installing an overtime portion to the practices. I wonder if that is more about practicing 2-point plays than the organization/play-calling/urgency aspects of overtime. Maybe we'll be going for 2, and on 4th down, more this year to reduce the kicking risks.

A bit off topic by why don’t they practice on the grass field across Kagy next to the stadium like they use to ?

Perhaps they're trying to throw off the Griz coaching staff in case they got any ideas from the Canadian national soccer team.

They used the Dobbie Lambert fields last season as well. Vigen mentioned last year something about the condition of Dyche not being up to standard. The Dobbie Lambert fields also has an artificial turf area but I don't know if they are using it or not.
