Billings Peeps
I'm in your neck of the woods this weekend for work. Where is my best place to catch the game Saturday? Being on FS1 I assume nearly every bar will have it, but just curious if there is one you'd deem a Bobcat bar that would be better than the rest?
Thanks!
Thanks!

I would say for bobcat fans: Red Door, Divide Bar, Cadillac jacksilovethecats wrote: ↑Wed Aug 21, 2024 10:29 amI'm in your neck of the woods this weekend for work. For general bars with a griz lean: winners circle, hooligans,
Other bars: Buffalo Wild Wings, old Chicago, mannys
Not sure all will have it, but most will for sure. Red Door will probably be the most bobcat fans. I have no clue about the heights, maybe the Vig.
If your left, you aren’t right.

I actually like the Red Door and I'll be on that west end so I think that's where I'll head. Appreciate the help!

The Red Door is one of my favorite bars in town, but TVs are not as big/plentiful as some of the other places in town. The Den (just a bit further down Grand to the west) has a better range of TVs throughout the bar and makes it easier to find a place to post up for the afternoon.

Re: Billings Peeps
The Den is much better for actually watching the game as the Red Door can be annoying with certain people not really there for the game but to continue their conversations from Thursday Wine Night.EchoSierraGolf wrote: ↑Wed Aug 21, 2024 11:10 amThe Red Door is one of my favorite bars in town, but TVs are not as big/plentiful as some of the other places in town. I like Gordy's at about the corner of 24th and Grand. Being that there is not much else competing for eyeballs, I would imagine most bars will have it on, as long as FS1 is part of their cable package.

Re: Billings Peeps
The Divide isn’t a dedicated sports bar, but I’d imagine they’ll have the game on the few TVs they do have. The owner is a Cat alum for what it’s worth.
Red Door is always a solid option. Won’t be raucous, but that’s what I’d be looking for in a place to watch a game that I actually want to pay attention to.
Manny’s isn’t anything special, but they have some big TVs, I’d be shocked if they didn’t have the game going on a few.
The Den…. Eh…. They’ll have the game, may be fine, my issues are more with the owners and being….bleh. So I don’t give them my business.
That’s a quick rundown of some options in my neck of the woods on the west end.

Man how did I forget the Den, yes that is better than the door and the owner is a bobcat fan. Bad advice, I’m good for that.EchoSierraGolf wrote: ↑Wed Aug 21, 2024 11:10 amThe Red Door is one of my favorite bars in town, but TVs are not as big/plentiful as some of the other places in town. All of the options mentioned are great! The Red Door, while not a dedicated sports bar, has 5 65" TV's + 3 70" TV's in the main bar area. The owners wife is Bobcat alum, the owner didn't go to college
They are typically the go to location for the Bobcat Alumni Association to watch the Cat/Griz game. They also host the Bobcat Quarterback Club meetings every monday after every Cat game which I would highly recommend joining if you have any interest. You get great benefits, plus a weekly analysis from the head coach about the past game and the upcoming game, and a chance to ask questions directly to the coach. The owner of The Red Door is a member of the club, as well as on a committee within the club that recently hosted an event which raised $31,000 which went directly to the players. The Red Door donated a percentage of bar proceeds. If their banquet room is available they will open it up to watch the games, which it will be this Saturday. The banquet room also has 3 70" TV's and they are investigating adding a video wall made up of 6 seperate TV's which could be synced as 1 large screen or 6 seperate screens. The banquet room seats 150 so there is plenty of room.
They also have food and drink specials during MT and NFL games. Just some input to help you choose the right spot! Go Cats!

Re: Billings Peeps
I have watched several Cat games at the Red Door and it has always been a good experience. I’m sure there are a lot of places to watch the game, but if I was in Billings, especially on the West End that would be my go to spot.Red Door wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2024 12:34 pmAll of the options mentioned are great! Re: Billings Peeps
We went to the Red Door to watch the game Saturday evening. I usually do not complain much, but I was very disappointed. We got there an hour before the game, but did not need to. When the game started there were more tv's on the griz game then the cats. I thought this was a BOBCAT bar! Finally there were equal number of TV's except the big screen TV had technical issues, while the griz tv was fine. So we moved twice to try and find a TV to watch the cats. You had to watch because there was no audio. In the second half we had to move again, that was the 4th time, because they were starting Karaoke. By that time we were disgusted with the whole thing and left. IDK maybe I am a little old school, but to me a Bobcat bar will show bobcat games on all if not most of their TV's. By the way the divide was mentioned as a bobcat bar, but I called and they only had the griz game on. We finally found it at the Den. At least the cats won, but I would not go to the Red Door again.

Re: Billings Peeps
@Red Door here's looking at you. Might want to rethink some things, this bad review on BN will likely reduce your patronage on MSU football Saturdays... I live in Billings and don't usually go out to watch the games (have young kids that need dad time on the weekends) but if I ever do, this review would prevent me from attending...rogpatt16 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 02, 2024 10:57 amWe went to the Red Door to watch the game Saturday evening. Re: Billings Peeps
This wasn't a great week to watch the Bobcat game in a bar simply because of the schedule having the Griz game kick off an hour earlier. So their fans likely showed up before the Bobcat fans did, and no (successful) bar is going to turn away paying customers or deny them from watching the game they want. Especially somewhere like Billings with pretty evenly split populations of fans of each team. When you rely on bars to watch games you're always going to sometimes have to deal with the fact that other people there don't want to see the same game that you do. If you show up early and are nice to the staff it generally works out pretty well. If you sit down right at kickoff time and demand that they switch the best/biggest TV to your game even though there's a group already watching something else...good luck with that.
