Down 5 with 2:00 left, 80 yards to go, which trio do you trust to win the game?
1. Travis Lulay, Junior Adams, Scott Turnquist
2. Denarius McGhee, Elvis Akpla, Tanner Bleskin
3. Dakota Prukop, Mitch Herbert, Mitch Griebel
4. Tommy Mellot, Lance McCutcheon, Willie Patterson

Also what defense is playing? We know the Prukop teams would score but do it in 37 seconds and leave 1:23 for the other team to get into FG range and win it.

I'd go Lulay if I have to pick but I'd roll with any of them.CodyCat wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2024 3:41 pmDoesnt it have to be Travis et al?MTCowpoke22 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2024 3:22 pmDown 5 with 2:00 left, 80 yards to go, which trio do you trust to win the game?

I agree. But, I think it’s Travis and Turnquist and Adams I’d give the nod to.grizzh8r wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2024 9:27 pmMan, those are all solid trio's. Re: Golden Coolie Questions
It’s tough.
Option 1 is Denarius. Best QB, arguably best WR.
After that it’s a toss up between Lulay and Tommy.
Prukop last, but he also has the worst weapons of the others.

Re: Golden Coolie Questions
That's just the thing, Lulay had the luxury of Kramer's typically better than average defensive scheme to pick up the slack when his relatively pedestrian offensive scheme stumbled. Two words: Don Bailey (nuff said)catsrback76 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 21, 2024 5:09 amI agree. The Ash teams had really good offensive schemes - regardless of coordinator it seemed - but shaky defensive ones due to relying too heavy on skill and talent at key positions with insufficient talent backing that up when starters went down. Two words: Jamie Marshall (nuff said).
Sample size with Vigen's teams is too small at this point, as his best season was driven by a defense laden with NFL talent that erased defense scheme lapses. This season will be telling.
Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.

Re: Golden Coolie Questions
Maybe it is Denarius. Those teams were so good offensively that I dont remember many 4q 2min comebacks. Lulay on the other hand, was a magician with a real solid body of work.BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Wed Aug 21, 2024 7:47 amIt’s tough.

This has me thinking. What year did MSU beat Weber by going the length of the field. Then kicking an onside kick, recovering said kick and scoring another TD for the win? And, is that comeback on youtube?

McGhee is the best QB on the list. Imagine what he could’ve done with this team. Then you have Akpla, and it’s probably between him and Adams for the best WR.CodyCat wrote: ↑Wed Aug 21, 2024 8:01 amMaybe it is Denarius. Re: Golden Coolie Questions
Yep, NAU. Weber comeback was in 2004, or 2006, because it was a home game. I think it was either a pick-6 to win it by an oddball score, or a pick to stop a potential game winning drive.vike_king wrote: ↑Wed Aug 21, 2024 8:58 amThat sounds more like a game against Northern Arizona.CodyCat wrote: ↑Wed Aug 21, 2024 8:01 amMaybe it is Denarius. While researching it I ran across this Lulay comeback at Weber in 2005...

Re: Golden Coolie Questions
Finally watched the end of it, and they showed the ending of the 2004 game in Bozeman (another cardiac cats special, led by Lulay, and again won on a walkoff FG). So the game I'm thinking of above had to be 2006, because I distinctly remember it being a Kramer team. So after Lulay.catsrback76 wrote: ↑Thu Aug 22, 2024 6:30 amA CLASSIC re-introduction to the Cardiac Cats!grizzh8r wrote: ↑Wed Aug 21, 2024 9:55 pmYep, NAU. I am really pulling for Kautzman and am glad for his sake that they are not giving up on him. I know Vigen has said they have been working on improving his consistency, but have they had an "expert" specifically working with him on increasing his trajectory?
