No, there’s never been a blitz since he’s been head coach.

We blitzed on the one 3 and out we had in the second quarter I'm pretty sure. It was one of Dampier's wild over-throws.

Didn’t notice that one, disappointed I missed it. Love a good blitz.

Yes, had all 3 timeouts, no need to throw every play, but that has been MO under Vigen.

Doesn't mean you run to start the drive. If you run for 4 yards on the 1st play you either burn a TO or 15-20 seconds if you get a call in fairly quick. Nothing wrong with how they called that drive to start.

They passed every play.

And? We were 70 yards from the EZ. That's generally how 2 minute drives start.

No one said to run every play. We said to run during the drive.

Mendenhall is a world class coach. Vigen is not.

Mendenhall is a good coach. Nothing more.

Say what you will but I have respect for him. He can coach in Bozeman whenever he wants.

Tommy in passing situations has struggled

First half thoughts

Qb: Tommy started off slow almost like he was nervous or trying to do to much, possibly trying to be perfect instead of just playing. He settled down and looked really good late in the half.

Rbs: running hard.. north south runners not a lot of wiggle not a lot if strike up the band speed. Chunk yardage players. Doing really well.... anytime you have 100yds in a half you're doing your job.

Wrs: only one dropped ball but it was in all fairness a difficult ball. They all seem to catch cleanly and have run after catch ability. Blocking really well.

Ol: they started off missing some blocks but picking rushers but they too settled down and lied really really good. Several clean pockets, definite running lanes. I see is being very dominant on the fcs level of they can do this to a larger dl.

Te: doing well. Not a lot if action here but that was a heck of s catch in the end zone.

Dl: looking good agadir a clearly larger line. Not a ton of push but we are stalemating. That's good because we aren't getting shoved around.

Lbs: some good some bad. We don't have the lateral speed but we are good at the point of attack when it's a clean hole. We aren't tackling all that great when are coming off blocks. Not terribly bad but would lie to see s but more out of this group.

Cbs: in coverage only one bust due to lack of discipline. We're able to run with the wrs, we close good. Would like to see them tighten alignments so they can defend more routes but we aren't giving up big plays down field so can't be totally mad. We've had some chances at ints but we aren't getting out head around and locating the ball.

S: one is good in run the other is good in pass and unm is attacking each's weakness. They are a step slow avgs it's hurting in being able to come down and choose on short passes and we're a touch late in our run fits. They are either guessing on run to get to their fit or sitting way back trying to read the pass and be right. Lack of athleticism is hurting us here. I figure in fcs play we'll be okay though.

K: no mistakes so we're solid.

Coaching: we were a step behind most of the first half. We clawed back in when we got ahead on the schedule. A lot if that is due to then having film on us and is not having film on them. We don't have tendencies or anything else.

2nd hand thoughts....... offense has to keep doing what its doing. Defense has to get unm off schedule. Our success will hinge on our ability to make adjustments and throw wrinkles at unm. Can't just live up and doing everything the same. We aren't physically better so we have to make them think a little.

I don’t think it was a fumble. I don’t think the call with be overturned after review. Another example of get Tommy out of the pocket. He will never be a pocket passer get him on the move and let him make a play. Roll him out for the love of god.

It’s not Tommy’s fault. Coaches are calling plays that don’t put him in a place to be successful. He’s not good in the pocket and never will be. Get him on the move that’s where he excels.

As with last season I’m planted on the fire and blame Vigen train.
