Seems like a lot of sparky comments. I would think if you dont like seeing emotional in game comments and the back and forth of game day threads don't read it. And especially dont come on after the fact and criticize those who post thru out. Of no one posted this would be a pretty boring place to visit.

Again, negative comments about individual plays and schemes within a game are fine. We are just pointing out the guys that are calling for players to be benched and coaches to be fired in week 0.

I have not watched the replay yet so a few questions:

No sacks. That is alarming.
Why was Myles kicking?
A friend said our DB'S looked terrible. True?
Did White play at RB?

No sacks isn't really alarming considering the size of their ol. We got decent pressure and we actually held up ok against the run. We weren't getting mauled and we didn't get a huge push. I see them being fine from here on out. Plus their qb was extremely elusive, I don't think we'll see a qb that has this kind of elusivity the rest of the year.

Dbs didn't look terrible. They weren't great but they were in coverage. Cbs weren't getting ran by but a lot if that was because we were bailing out playing a cover 3 concept or cover 4 concept. The time I saw press man we did very well. They drive down hill and made decent open field tackles, from the cb spot. They do need to improve but it wasn't atrocious. Safeties need work. Our tackling angles are off when they don't get a jump on the ball, that screams lack of speed. On deep passes they got lost a couple of times. In one play saw a cb get lost once as well... all correctable. Again not terrible but yeah they need work in the middle of the field

Kaiden Bennett of Sac State is almost a clone of Dampier, but a better passer.

Gotcha.... just asking cause I don't know.... does he have similar talent at the skill position? Cause they will definitely be a problem.

Lost a solid TE but they do have some good WRs, including an All-Conference guy. Returned RBs 2, 3 and 4 from last year. #2 ran us over pretty good. Also returned 5 OL who started at least half their games last year.

All there O lineman from last year are gone.

Jackson Slater is a very good returning OL. So there’s at least one.

Listen, yeah these threads get emotional in the moment.
Over the top sometimes. And I'm guilty as anyone.

I think the criticisms from earlier in the game were 100% warranted. It was bad for a good chunk and it was apparent. I'm not going to feign positivity when we've seen these issues game after game.

Now the adjustments from Vigen and the effort in the second half was outstanding. That was actual, visual growth.
Hats off to them for persevering.

I stay away from the game day thread during the game because it is always a sh1t show. A guy makes a mistake and dumb asses are posting to bench him. Pretty sure the best players of all time have made mistakes….

I completely disagree with your comment about criticism though. If you post - emotional or not - you are open to criticism. If you can’t handle the criticism, then don’t post.

I’d be surprised if we did. Why risk it? There are two very winnable games followed by an early bye week and then what should be the easiest game of the year after the bye week. Sit anyone that remotely needs it and make sure they’re good to go for conference play. This team is deep enough to get by the next month with who they have now and to get some depth guys some experience.

If Danny Woodhead was hobbit-sized, I hope I don’t run into a herd of horrible hobbits on a dark night. Woodhead may have been a bit under-tall, but I remember his calf muscles as they kept running away from us — holy cow, big calves!!

It's usually gamesmanship but it was happening way too much. Either he was desperate to mess with us, is an a$$hole, or they have a couple guys that play both ways.

Usually this happens if an offensive player and a defensive player with the same number are both on a special teams unit. Sometimes teams will just have one of the players switch jersey numbers for the game or season...it's why Tommy switched from #4 to #16 as a freshman since James Campbell, the defense #4 was also playing special teams.

Alex Eekhoff switched jerseys between 71 and 97 several times per game in 2012 due to being the team's only backup tackle as well as their #2 blocking tight end.

Random-ass post. When anyone thinks of Albuquerque, do you picture it due south of Eastern Montana, actually Colstrip to be precise? Seems like it should be way further west than it is.
