I know Reno has had some bad football years and the crowd probably filled in a bit, but yeeesh.

Capacity is 27000 but can go above that by a bit... There were 20000+ for SMU. Hopefully Choate can improve on that. I like Choate. I DO NOT like unr.

That program took a massive nose dive when Jay Norvell went to CSU, clearly they have some rebuilding to do

There was not even close to 20K at that game. Maybe 15K at best. maybe they sold 20K tickets but many did not show up.

Been to Reno once in my life, job related, about 25 years ago. I can guarantee there won't be a second time. I found the place to be Californicated(huh, go figure). Nice location, lousy people. Sounds eerily similar to what I've heard about Bozeman.😱😂

Lived 45 minutes west for over 30 years. Many family members used to be there. Very small number there now. Californicated is spot on.

Had to go there for shopping so we were there weekly. Mine you, it is not LA, but traffic now is atrocious. They have been "rebuilding" hwy 395/I-80 forever. It does have its plusses but...

Okay, so far I count these MSU connections to the UNR football staff. Is there anyone I'm missing?

1. Choate
2. Ioane
3. Armstrong
4. Thomas
5. Price
6. Patera
BJ joined him a few weeks ago.

In what capacity? I don't see his name on the coaches roster yet.

I’m glad Neveda got beat. Stay out of Montana when recruiting Jeffy :)

Yeah, that's kind of the bad thing with him possibly being a success at Nevada. Choate knows where to look in Montana for talented players. Of course, it looks like a lot of other schools are finding the hidden gems here too.

I haven't been to reno for probably a decade but it felt like to me it was vegas for the trailer park. I mean Laughlin feels like a step up from Reno. Other than there's noone in Laughlin.

Reno has completely changed. There has been a lot of development. The Sparks retail area and the Reno Entertainment District have made it a very appealing area. Very similar to nicer parts of California without the heat and a change of season. Only 40 miles from Lake Tahoe as well. I have never spent much time downtown as that still needs more redevelopment. The Nevada campus is also very nice.

I love(d) the swagger and toughness Choate brings to a program.

He's always a teacher too. The detail he goes into in these press conferences and the QB club meetings is second to none.

Nevada wins 28-26 at Troy. Very impressive job so far by Choate and staff.
