I was at that game. It was at home and I don’t think that game had anything near the adversity the New Mexico game had with the heat, wind and penalties. MSU had a lot going against it.AFCAT wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2024 10:51 pmYeah, I was at that game too and I probably watched this video a thousand times in 1985 alone. New Mexico will probably go 3-9 this year but still, those guys were big on the o-line and fast at skill positions.
Week 1 FCS games.

I was 12 and don’t remember much other than MSU won the two playoff games my dad took me to that season. I do remember the Joe Bignell TD reception watching on TV against LA Tech. I played so many games in three sports through HS that just being at those playoff games is an awesome memory. First tickets I ever sold scalped were the Rhode Island game at 12.AFCAT wrote: ↑Fri Aug 30, 2024 10:51 pmYeah, I was at that game too and I probably watched this video a thousand times in 1985 alone. My most detailed memory in person as a kid was Scott Hurley hitting a long shot off the glass to beat the Gris at the Brick.

And then ISU exposed the UND D and took it down and scored. 14 to 3 heading into half.

I open up Twitter and see a high lite with Portland State going up on Washington State 7-0. Oooooo, I’m going to go watch that game! Turns on TV, Washington State 49, Portland State 17 and it’s only halftime.

Hah, after seeing Portland State run up the score to 91 points on North American last year, it’s kind of fun to see them getting scorched here, currently 63-17 in the 3rd. Robbie has 25 tackles though.

UCD looks really good so far. Probably the best team the Cats will face regular season. Great defense, good balanced offense. UCD up 13 to 7.

Yep, great return by Cal, not sure why they kicked to him. UCD Marching again. They have 40 plays for 218 yards, compared to 18 plays for just over 100 yards for Cal.

Davis offense, I believe, also has shown well, they just not getting the final punch into the end zone. Second half they are having trouble getting going so maybe Cal figured them out.
