Re: Weekly poll
Now we just gotta stay there...it's gonna be tough, but we have Idaho, SAC, and UM at home. A lot of these teams looked really good this weekend even though they lost. Idaho looked strong against Oregon. Sac looked good against San Jose until one of their teammates got hauled off in a stretcher. UCD looked tough against Cal until late in the game. Even Weber fought U dub to a standstill until late.
U dumb looked a little shaky at home against a team that wasn't afraid of the crowd. If they had a tougher schedule I think they would lose 2 or 3 games.

Here's the new media poll. I was wrong, the Bobcats did leapfrog the Griz to #3 and received 7 additional first place votes compared to the preseason poll.

Surprised Idaho didn't move up a spot or two. They looked really well put together.MSU01 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 02, 2024 9:12 amHere's the new media poll. I was wrong, the Bobcats did leapfrog the Griz to #3 and received 7 additional first place votes compared to the preseason poll.

Statistically they were dominated.
10 1st down to 31
217 yd to 487
47 plays to 87
2-12 vs7-16 3rd down conv.
Oregon doubled TOP
The stat they did well on was yds per rush .
I didn't see game so what did they show everyone because a lot of comments on how good they looked, is it just from score

I'm sure the gris fanbase will handle MSU leapfrogging (rightfully) them in the polls in a calm, measured, and thoughtful manner.

I watched the game from start to finish. Idaho looked very good and made critical plays when needed. Eck has his guys believing in themselves and playing with confidence. That was a very, very good Idaho team regardless of the stat line.tetoncat wrote: ↑Mon Sep 02, 2024 9:51 amClowderUp wrote: ↑Mon Sep 02, 2024 9:18 amSurprised Idaho didn't move up a spot or two. Re: Weekly poll
I'm just curious to those that think the Cats should be #2 can you explain why? I'm genuinely curious because I think they are either 3 or 1. You can correctly drop um a spot due to squeaking out a win at home versus a bottom MVFC team. Are you dropping SDSU because they really didn't compete in their play-up game? Are you saying polls should be about this season now, not hanging on to results from the last season?
