Patrick McMahon is listed as a senior on the official roster. Does anyone know whether the Bobcats have tried getting him a medical redshirt due to his foot injuries the last two seasons? Or maybe he is just ready to be done this year, come what may?

I hope Patrick has a productive, injury-free season because he has earned it.

He’s listed as a senior, but he will almost 100 percent receive a medical redshirt for last season since he broke his foot in the third game of the year.

Coach Logie told me when it happened that it was a slam dunk medical hardship case. Maybe they are listing him as a senior until the NCAA waiver comes through or maybe on next year’s roster he’ll be considered a graduate student.

But he’s definitely excited to be healthy and I know he’s looking forward to playing for another two years.

MSU has been pretty consistent with their rosters in terms of labeling fourth year players as seniors unless the player has taken a full redshirt year, even when that player has two years of eligibility left due to the Covid year or in this case a medical redshirt option. Good to hear that Patrick is healthy and ready to go, he's a great player.

Patrick is that wildcard player for me. He has shown flashes of really good basketball. I hope he has the kind of year he wants and that he comes back for another great year next year as well. The Cats are much better when he is playing.
