That's awesome, congrats Daniel! Looks like Lance McCutcheon was waived by the Jets today, so there will be three former Bobcats on 53-man rosters to open the season. Hopefully Ty, Lance, and Lewis can make a practice squad somewhere.

I watched the season finale of Hard Knocks last night and was a little surprised Hardy didn't get a little air time. Usually the show follows around a few players on the bubble as a sub-plot for the season, and those are picked probably before the first episode, so they're committed to showing more of them through the end of the season so they don't lose the plot. But still, when the DC said nobody stood out more than Daniel Hardy, I thought HBO would want to make him part of it.

I've been following him all fall as a bears fan. I was not surprised he made the 53 man roster. What is a little surprising is I don't think he's the low man on the 53 at DE. He seems to have worked past Dominique Robinson, who is a ryan Poles draftee in his 3rd year. He is also on the 53 but was inactive last week. I really hope hardy gets a chance to rush the qb at some point, as he looks fast enough around the edge where he should be able to make some plays if given the chance.

I saw a clip of Hardy on the show where he was standing on the sidelines during a practice and talking to another player about kids shows they watched when they were young. I can’t find the clip now.

I’m older than Daniel Hardy by more than a few years, but apparently not so much that I wasn’t watching the same shows as he was growing up. That being said I watch some wild shows with my daughter in the morning. In any case, the nostalgia of that clip you’re talking about was nice!

I think the Bears have a defensive end coming off the PUP list after game 4. At that point Hardy or Dominique Robinson a former Bears 5th round pick, could be a cut risk. For the first two games of the season, Robinson has been inactive and Hardy has played well, which is a great sign for him sticking.

They have been loath to cut ties with Robinson even though he hasn’t produced at all. Hardy’s special teams play has been tremendous so I’m hopeful they will make the right decision.
