Predicting forward saying everything goes chalk. USD loses to NDSU but win their other games and Davis beat the gris but lose to the Cats.

1 NDSU
2 MSU
3 SDSU
4 SEMO
5 Idaho
6 Mercer
7 USD
8 Davis

????? not a fan of this after I did it. USD in the quarters, and SDSU in the Semi's. Ugh

Maybe this

1 NDSU
2 MSU
3 SDSU
4 SEMO
5 Idaho
6 USD
7 Davis
8 Mercer

It would set up a Davis rematch in the quarters but it would be in Bozeman. Kinda like this one better.
In that scenario, Davis would be 10-2 with a win over Idaho and UM. They would be the 4 seed. South Dakota would be 8-3 with a now ranked win over UND, and a win over Pioneer champ (most likely) Drake. That's not enough for a seed.

1. NDSU
2. MSU
3. SDSU
4. UC-Davis
5. Mercer
6. SEMO
7. Idaho
8. UIW/Nova/URI
I don't think losing to the #1 team would drop the Yotes from the 4 to out of the top eight. 8-3 and I think SIU was still ranked when they played them so they would have 2 ranked wins.
They would have 2 then ranked wins, but 1 now ranked win. Even with an SOS inside the top 15, 1 now ranked win for an 8-3 team shouldn't be enough for a seed.
They are a seed even with out a now ranked win. They haven't beaten UND yet.
Currently, yes. But if other teams continue not losing, and they lose another one, their resume won't back up being seeded.
USD's resume doesn't back up being seeded right now and yet the people who seed them says they are the 4 seed. No currently ranked wins, only 5 D1 wins (played a D2 and had the PSU forfeit). Wild that you think that changes by beating a ranked team and losing to the #1.

Do game results not matter? It would be one thing if they got ran off the field last weekend against SDSU. But they didn't. They stood toe to toe with the defending national champs, on the road in what had to have been a hostile environment, and had a legitimate chance to win the game. That means something to everyone except you, evidently....
Ahh gotcha, my mistake.

Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.

Game results do matter. But if USD is 7-2 against the FCS (8-3 overall), how is that anywhere near a seed in a 12 game season? The best they can do is 2 ranked wins in that scenario (assuming Drake is ranked by season's end). Close losses aren't wins. A 9-3 BSC or CAA with at least 2 ranked wins would have a better claim to a seed. Depending on how things shake out teams like Tarleton and UCA would have better claims as well.

Hero Sports also mentioned the top 10 from the committee is a right here right now deal. They aren't projecting anything. USD is #4/#5 several places because of how they played SDSU. There are still 4 games for things to change, and I just don't see how 7-2 against the FCS is deserving of a seed.

Here's a resume.
8-3 vs the FCS
very tough SOS. Lost to the number 1, number 2, and 4 seeds.
has 2 then ranked wins, but only only 1 now ranked win.
Sound familiar? It was a seed last season and it would be a very similar resume to USD.

The question will be, are there any teams with a better resume than that? The answer very well could be no. But there's lots of football to be played between now and then, so it probably won't play out like that.

Agreed, and this is the exact type of discussion the committee will be having the next few weeks I'd think.
