Fife rumor?
A site that I subscribe to has a Big Sky blog/show. One of the guys, there are 5, when talking about the gris/Aggie game and the "gris two qb system" mentioned a tweet from Fife, since removed, that seemed to just have a shoulder shrug emoji. Anyone hear/see anything regarding this.
The groups consensus is the 2 QB cannot work. Also thoughts about how their vaunted offense has gone to sleep the past three weeks.

Re: Fife rumor?
I don't think it's a rumor, as several people have posted that they saw the image before it was deleted. In fact there is a poster on here that said they saw it. Now is there a chance it meant something different that what everyone would think it means? (Fife pissed off and frustrated with the coaching staff). Sure, I suppose that's possible. Feels to me like that team is not functioning very well right now.RickRund wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2024 10:48 amA site that I subscribe to has a Big Sky blog/show. Re: Fife rumor?
Gris fan pod talked about it. They also talked about how a certain RB is in the doghouse with the coaches and Gilman got only 3 carries in the first quarter. They are already losing a big number to graduation and if they drop the last 3 and not make the playoffs could have some attrition come portal time. To lose Fife and Gilman would be a blow.catatac wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2024 11:40 amI don't think it's a rumor, as several people have posted that they saw the image before it was deleted. Geezus. Seems like a bit S***Show over there. I think Bobby might be losing it. Fife clearly isn't happy with Bobby, and whatever 2QB system Bobby is experimenting with clearly isn't working. Then you bench Gilman? There was also something really weird that must have happened with Bobby and Grossman. Also, if you caught the press conference... Bobby called out his lines and said they got thumped, several times. Take some ownership Bobby - you're the Head Coach for F Sakes. No wonder fans are throwing garbage on the field and mass exodus out of the stadium after the 3rd quarter.Prodigal Cat wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2024 2:43 pmGris fan pod talked about it. Re: Fife rumor?
I saw the tweet. It was just a guy shrugging his shoulders and shaking his head. It was clearly depicting frustration. Who knows what is going on in the locker room over there but knowing what a javk@aa hauck is I wouldn't blame the kid for being frustrated. He had two perfectly capable QB's last year that he chased off. Why would this year be any different?

Re: Fife rumor?
With all the documented weirdness that goes on with the gris, why does anyone still sign with them? I’m guessing they get mostly legacy and unwitting outsiders. I love having five Bobcat players from Missoula who clearly had their eyes wide open.

Re: Fife rumor?
Its legitimately baffling that any kid signs with the gris, at least from Montana. My nephew went through recruitment and had PWO from both schools but choose a full ride to Carroll. He said the attitude of the gris coaches was that they shouldn't even need to recruit him. That if he was a Mt kid he should be BEGGING to play for the gris. "your lucky to be here." Conversely Bobby Daly was sending him stuff every week and had Vigen stop by his high school to help recruit. Invited him to multiple visits. I guess proof is in the pudding. Look how many of the top kids the Cats got this season versus UM. I hope BH is around for a lot longer. We will continue to kick their a$$e$ in-state.Bobcat4Ever wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2024 7:29 pmWith all the documented weirdness that goes on with the gris, why does anyone still sign with them? I’ve heard a similar story from a kid offered PWO at msu and um. At msu, the visit was all about the kid. Developing him as a person a student and a player. At the um visit, the kid said it was all about Bobby’s ego.Prodigal Cat wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2024 8:54 amIts legitimately baffling that any kid signs with the gris, at least from Montana. Re: Fife rumor?
Better stadium, better facilities, better fan support than all but a handful of other FCS programs (MSU, NDSU, SDSU) and a pretty significant portion of FBS programs. They'll always be able to attract good players just like MSU and NDSU and SDSU will no matter who the coach is. The question is will they be able to develop and retain those good players.

This is the question moving forward for sure! The portal could be full of former griz players if something doesn't change very soon.MSU01 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2024 2:09 pmBetter stadium, better facilities, better fan support than all but a handful of other FCS programs (MSU, NDSU, SDSU) and a pretty significant portion of FBS programs. Sure, their Champions Center and Indoor Practice Facility even if it's "only" a bubble. What other FCS programs aside from the three I mentioned can match that? Maybe there are a few but surely the list is very, very short.RickRund wrote: ↑Sat Nov 16, 2024 9:59 amBetter facilities?MSU01 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2024 2:09 pmBetter stadium, better facilities, better fan support than all but a handful of other FCS programs (MSU, NDSU, SDSU) and a pretty significant portion of FBS programs. I had to read it twice, at first I thought you were saying UM was better than MSU in all those areas, but now I see - NOPE!

Fife got an unsportsmanlike penalty in the 3 quarter today. Griz fans are saying he gave Bobby the one finger salute.

Watch the replay on ESPN+, 13:01 in the 3rd qtr. Bobby meets Fife coming off the field after he led the team down the field for a TD (but got called for an unsportsmanlike penalty for celebrating). He was chewing out Fife and yelled F U at him. After the following ad, they show Bobby and Fife going at it again during the break. I guess later they hugged it out.

Re: Fife rumor?
There was a little shoving as well. It would have looked much better had booby met him, put his hands on Fife'spads, patted him on the back, said good drive and then added let's not do that again. That whole situation did not come off well. It's not like he took off his helmet and started swinging it at people.catbooster wrote: ↑Sat Nov 16, 2024 11:32 pmWatch the replay on ESPN+, 13:01 in the 3rd qtr. Will Fife be returning next year? I sure don't think I would.
Had to go to egris and the big majority didn't like the way it was handled.

Re: Fife rumor?
Did Bobby and Fife really make up or is their quarterback controversy going to implode and mothball the rest of the season for the Griz.
