I get what you're saying but this MT Sports Bet. The national line might be closer but because this book is only in Mt they recognize that most of the traffic is going to be ON the Cats. So they hedge.

The Bobcat line indicates two things: one, that the book believes Montana State is 14 points better than UC Davis as the standard FCS homefield is 6.5 points. And two, it's a public bating line to get people to pour money in on Davis.

It's the same thing as the Griz line. This is pretty much the drill every single week. Both Montana schools are favored by more than they are actually favored by because it's the book baiting the public to bet the opposite side of the side you're "affiliated" with. The book does not make predictions. The book tries to get even money bet on both sides of a number.

If the Cat line moved 5 points in the matter of days, mission accomplished.
