/r/Sportsbook Matchup Prediction Tool has us at -12. It’s usually fairly accurate 35-23

Sports Bet MT came out with an initial line of Cats -16.5.

Re: Betting Lines
Wow that's higher than I figured.
I'm guessing that a large chunk of griz fans will jump on that and take the 16 points and the line will move down soon.

It’s up to 17.5 per Colter.

Still 16.5 looking at MT Sportsbet right now.

Re: Betting Lines
Question for you betters out there: I am on the Sports Bet MT app and look at the betting the spreads, which you can chose the spreads. My question is, why is there different odds if you're betting the away team vs the Home? For example, if I bet the away team +21.5 it's -238 but if I bet the home team -21.5 it's +145. What am I missing??

That’s basically saying it’s very likely that UM stays within 21.5 points and you’d have to bet $238 to win $100.
If you take msu -21.5, you’re saying msu will win by at least 22 points. And you’d win $145 for every $100 bet.

Thanks for the explanation. Why aren't they the same though? Like if you pick the gris +21.5, they have to lose by less then 22 and you win your bet. If you bet the Cats -21.5, the cats have to win by more then 22 points to win your bet. Isn't that the same thing? Why are the payouts different?

Re: Betting Lines
Because you are buying/selling the extra points. If you scroll down to -16.5 you will see that they are the sameCats15 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2024 4:33 pmwbtfg wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2024 4:13 pmCats15 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2024 4:05 pmQuestion for you betters out there: I am on the Sports Bet MT app and look at the betting the spreads, which you can chose the spreads. Re: Betting Lines
Not completely sure, but I think it has more to do with the balance of the money being bet on that specific wager. If more people are betting on the Cats to cover that 21.5, the bookie will try to entice bettors to put money on the Griz by increasing that payout. I think the best scenario for a bookie is to have equal money waged on each side since they make their money by taking a cut of the bet.Cats15 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2024 4:33 pmwbtfg wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2024 4:13 pmCats15 wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2024 4:05 pmQuestion for you betters out there: I am on the Sports Bet MT app and look at the betting the spreads, which you can chose the spreads. I think you're right. On Colter's "Tuesdays with Tootel" Gus Tootel talks about it and was very upset with it and adds more explanation.Cataholic wrote: ↑Tue Nov 19, 2024 10:09 pmNot completely sure, but I think it has more to do with the balance of the money being bet on that specific wager.
