Colter said last year that going to the championship game helped UM and SDSU in the portal because of the timing with the portal window. Hopefully helps us too.

Cool pic! Checking an old schedule I’m guessing this is October 19, 1974. A 14-0 win over Idaho State.

Is that the same section of bleachers we still have?

Yes. The only remaining section of Reno H. Sales Stadium, built in 1973.

This has been mentioned on some of Colter's shows but an unsung hero of our coaching staff has been Marcus Monaco. Udy is the ST Coordinator but Marcus really has put a lot into this group as the ST QC and it showed this year. Of course we haven't had a lot of opportunities to cover kicks but overall everything seems more consistent and at a higher level.

That stache

He looks like the owner of a Mediterranean restaurant

I remember back in the day when he was a drive through teller at Wells Fargo in Helena. Really great guy. Also great to have some Anaconda blood in the program.

If an NFL team broke the dolphins record (17-0) or patriots regular season record (16-0) would you refer to that as a team record or an NFL record?

MSU - 16 team National Champions (most recent 2024); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

Both. The wins are an NFL record and the teams record for wins.

I had no idea they dropped the Great Divide Trophy as they brought it on the field. Question though, why is there a Griz stamp or logo sticker on the bottom and I hope they cover it up or take it off while it sits in Bozeman.

Both. The wins are an NFL record and the teams record for wins.
Why? If you set the league record, then isn't it obvious that you also set the team record?

Coincidentally, a year after losing on a missed extra point, the team (New Hampshire) MSU might play in the second round is a team that the Bobcats beat on a blocked extra point to end playoff games in 1976 and 2011. Steven Bethley blocked the XP in 2011.

I thought it hit the upright? Or was it deflected into the upright. Also funny that Tim Cramsey was their Offensive Coordinator that year.

Someone said the other day that UT Martin was the team that Tommy got his first QB start against. So, there’s some history with either team that will be here two Saturdays from now.

I guess I was looking at your statement a little bit different than you intended. A teams record for wins may or may not be an NFL record. You could write that the “Patriots (the team) have an NFL record 16 regular season wins.” If the Patriots record is broken by another team, wouldn’t the win total still be a Patriots record? Currently, they hold the NFL and Patriots record. If the record is broken by another organization, then the Patriots of that season still have the team record. So, right now they hold both.

I think it’s kind of funny that Maclain Burckley, number 81, is listed as being six foot two inches tall on the roster but looks like he is five foot six standing next to Hall.

Haha you're right. Hall just dwarfs everyone! And that stache, classic

It did hit the upright. Maybe it was partially blocked?
