MBB vs. Southern Miss
Jed Miller is understanding the assignment. Tons of heart, rebounding, dropping dimes, and hitting a three. We are up 27-14 with 5 minutes to go first half.

Re: MBB vs. Southern Miss
The scout on Keaton's radio call was correct - these guys turn the ball over a lot. I've seen at least three passes to no one in particular. Cats up 34 -18 at the under 4 media time out.

Cats jack a lot of 3s. Even when have 2 on 1 situations

Re: MBB vs. Southern Miss
20 point win over a Sun Belt team. Not too shabby. Southern Miss is kind of a mess. They play pretty helter-skelter and sometimes we got too sped up. As mentioned, Jed Miller did a great job of handling the ball against their press, where Mullins was struggling. When teams press us, Jed needs to be out there.

Nice win, I'm sure it feels good for the guys to get that first D-1 win after coming so close against Northwestern. Hopefully it's the first of many!

Re: MBB vs. Southern Miss
So Miss shot horrible, they can’t shoot especially from behind the arc. They were 3 for 20, 15% and
20-56 35% overall. An average Junior college team would have beat them last night. Can anybody tell me why Goracke is not starting ?

Re: MBB vs. Southern Miss
Short answer is, because Mullins is the leader in assists on the team, and had been great with the ball. Tonight was an off night for him. It is also great to have a scorer coming off the bench, and he adds a spark (Goracke) when he does. It is early in season.

I would say he should start instead of Max: ButSACCAT wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2024 8:38 amShort answer is, because Mullins is the leader in assists on the team, and had been great with the ball. he is averaging quite a few minutes. Shooting over 50% from the field. Off
the bench may be his gig.
I guess if it isn’t broke don’t fix it.
But then again Logie played Nduka a lot last year hmmm.. (eye roll)

How about that Jed Miller steal late in the 2nd half? Dude looked like a DB snagging an interception!

Re: MBB vs. Southern Miss
I'd say the overall distribution of minutes as well as which group of five are out there late in a close game is a lot more meaningful than who starts. Right now the Bobcats have 9 guys averaging between 16 and 26 minutes per game, so it seems as though Logie is trying to spread the minutes around and not overload anyone so they get worn out by February and March. I fully expect Goracke's minutes to increase once conference play begins - more than any other player on the team Logie knows what he can do and how best to utilize him within the rotation.TheBigCat wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2024 8:54 amI would say he should start instead of Max: ButSACCAT wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2024 8:38 amShort answer is, because Mullins is the leader in assists on the team, and had been great with the ball. Re: MBB vs. Southern Miss
Was anyone else having issues with the ESPN+ feed last night? Mine kept buffering, and then the sound kept cutting in and out.
I finally had to turn it off and listen on the radio....

To the question of Gorake. Keaton hit this one on the head last night in his pregame. If we’ve paid attention to what has been said in the past few weeks, Brian has said that he is “a team player” and has willingly given up his starting spot. This move, purely speculation here, could be purely about the 6th Man award at the end of the season. We all know Brian has the chops to start. I think the starters we’re seeing is what’s going to continue into conference play. However, it’s not who starts the game but finishes!

Are you using a fire stick? I have that problem with mine and I just go in and clear the cache and stop some of the worthless junk running in the background and that fixes the problem.

I have a Samsung "smart TV" with the ESPN app downloaded. It could be my TV though...

Re: MBB vs. Southern Miss
Of course he is going to say he is a team player OMG. And he doesn’t have the choice whether he starts or not. He did not just say oh ya have my starting position! What makes players better is competition within the organization for the starting spot. I have watched a ton of MSU practices they don’t full court scrimmage EVER! And nobody is competing for a starting spot he already has the teams and the agenda set and never moves anybody around.HighPlainsBobcat wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2024 11:25 amMSU01 wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2024 10:00 amI'd say the overall distribution of minutes as well as which group of five are out there late in a close game is a lot more meaningful than who starts. It took an injury even to get Olmsted on the court for more than 3 minutes at a time. Look what happened when he played decent minutes These are facts folks not options.
