Wow! Yes definitely an argument for expanding.

I'm sure they'd love to be able to expand the stadium, but where is the money going to come from while the practice facility is still under construction? I'll keep buying those lottery tickets when the jackpots get high...

I imagine it'll be part of the East side fix.
But yes, money is going to be a hot topic on that.

Don't let this distract you from the fact that the griz blew a 22-0 lead.

I know I am in the minority but I like the atmosphere that we have. Keep the supply/demand in the demands favor.

I would hate to see us add 10,000 more seats but never sell out. We are a hot ticket now and selling out, but when we have a down year or two, I would hate to see a 30,000 seat stadium only half full.
Upgrade what we have and the 20,000 fans that are fortunate to get a seat will keep the atmosphere as electric as it is.

Like others have already stated, where does the money come from? The donor list was tapped to its full extent for the IPF and they did not achieve the necessary funds until it came down to the wire as I understood it.

Wish there was a way to create more SRO on the corners of the BAC. Maybe mounds of dirt with tunnels thru it, with turf on top. Sloping it would add visibility to sit and stand. Might add 1,000 spots?

Not a bad idea. A cheap way to add spots and give it a "bowled in" look.

I would assume the East Side modification is next. Only because the east side is showing it's age. They painted them a few years ago but the rust is coming through again. That would make the stadium look better (match the end zone pitch) but add zero capacity. I would like them to bowl in the corners. That would add a couple thousand seats and really make the stadium look bigger and better. Suites over the East side would bring in a lot of money but not much in the way of capacity. I have been surprised by how much money has been raised and how quickly it has been raised. While I worry about the donors being tapped out 2 things will help. 1) winning a national championship and 2) getting money from the Yellowstone Club. I met with the person who is responsible for the Yellowstone Club fundraising in the Alumni Association and she said they are actively making progress. Not sure what that means but it is encouraging.

I like the idea of enclosing the corners, as long as they leave a tunnel for the rodeo team to enter from. I think it would be cool to move the Holland statue into the stadium where the players emerge from the BAC, and touch it as they come onto the field.

Go to “virtual tour of Montana State’s 20 year athletic plan” on YouTube and you’ll see quite a few seats added in the north end zone. The end zone is “enclosed “ on the lower level to pretty much complete the bowl. I would think this part of the 20 year plan should get priority after the indoor facility is completed

I think it’ll be relatively easy to get funding for the east side and end zone seating. A lot of people didn’t think the end zone would get funded, then they didn’t think it would get funding for the ‘go for two’ portion of it, then there was no way the BAC get funding and the IPF was just a pipe dream.

Curious, could we add more box seats above the BAC? View might not be as good but that seems like an option. Also the university needs to find a way to get more students into the stadium. The student section is already large but they sell out every single game in minutes. Also with the new video board I’m not sure how many seats we could add in the end zone.

Now, put the scoreboard pilings and BAC in there, don't block the windows, and raise the seating up eight to ten feet to include the proposed party area underneath the stands and reevaluate how much seating you get.

I would love to see the East side stands come down and get replaced, along with side sections in the north endzone that go up next to the BAC. If we win it all this year, the money will come when your ticket prices go up by $25-$50/seat next season. Haha!!

This has been discussed a bunch of times. How high do you have to go to see over the scoreboard?

Whats your opinion on closing the corners in and adding seating below the windows? Could they turn that lower section into a VIP/premium section of some sort?

Ol’ MTPOOPSFAN (of egris fame) claims the Cats are soon to announce a stadium expansion project. He says it’s mostly backed by the Yellowstone Club. But he’s full of it, so it’s likely untrue.

Read through these threads. This has been discussed a bunch of times already. There is even some discussion about it in the new indoor facility thread.
