Coincidentally, a year after losing on a missed extra point, the team (New Hampshire) MSU might play in the second round is a team that the Bobcats beat on a blocked extra point to end playoff games in 1976 and 2011. Steven Bethley blocked the XP in 2011.
I thought it hit the upright? Or was it deflected into the upright. Also funny that Tim Cramsey was their Offensive Coordinator that year.
It did hit the upright. Maybe it was partially blocked?
Blocked by the upright! Maybe that’s what Tom was alluding to.

My recollection is that the kick was tipped by an MSU player and then went off the upright. The MSU recap would seem to agree, and even tells us who blocked the kick (Steven Bethley). MSU was definitely fortunate to win that day with all the mistakes they made. Hopefully if UNH comes back to Bozeman this year it'll be a bit less close!

Ty Gregorak is 12-3 in Cat-Griz as an assistant coach. Think his losses were 2003, 2005, and 2010?

The crazy thing about that game was that New Hampshire's coach in 2011, Sean McDonnell, was a player for New Hampshire when they lost at MSU in the 1976 playoffs because of a missed extra point. McDonnell has since retired.

What is the story behind the trophy ''being dropped''? Have seen several gris posters bring it up.

Undefeated. He's great imo. Can you imagine having to endure Marty every week? That would suck pretty bad.

It was on a cart-like contraption and being pushed toward the field by a couple Montana State employees. The contraption looked very top heavy.

The whole thing tipped on its side, no damage was done....darnit.

Hoping for a new attractive trophy....instead of the big turd.

Basically The trophy was on a cart where the Bobcats come out of the BAC. At the end of the game it was being pushed out toward the field by 2 guys
and the cart which had way too small of wheels tipped over, dumping the trophy onto the turf on it's side. Not a good look at all.

I want the Bobcats to have that trophy every year but it will never look like anything other than a pile-o-crap.

Did they make the big turd when they started calling it the Brawl of the wild?

The trophy looks good up close, but in medium and long shots the details don't come out very well. The trophy would be better looking if it was shined up.

Maybe one of the preeminent engineering universities should design an appropriate cart for moving the trophy. Hint, larger wheels.

While registering my vehicles the assessor stated "I have had both Cat and Griz students and alums work for me and the Griz end up working under the direction of the Cats."

Talk about the ultimate butt hurt at Grisville. They get destroyed on the field so they resort to talking about tipping over the trophy. That is pathetic!
