What is the story behind the trophy ''being dropped''? Have seen several gris posters bring it up.

to people we pushing the cart out and tried to hurry. dumped it on the ground. team rushed over to pick it up. lots of video on facebook and on bobcat nation somewhere. egris has it too but it is a dumpster fire over there this week

Honestly, I know the gris are trying to poke fun at it, but I’m glad it happened. Revealed the hideous sticker on the bottom.

It was on a cart-like contraption and being pushed toward the field by a couple Montana State employees. The contraption looked very top heavy.

The whole thing tipped on its side, no damage was done....darnit.

Hoping for a new attractive trophy....instead of the big turd.

Well, you could commission Richard Dreyfus to recreate his Close Encounters mashed potato scene if it would make you happy. The trophy is perfect…no “little brown jug”, no “potato”, no causeway… it’s perfect…unless you like mashed potato mountains better.

It was on a cart-like contraption and being pushed toward the field by a couple Montana State employees. The contraption looked very top heavy.

The whole thing tipped on its side, no damage was done....darnit.

Hoping for a new attractive trophy....instead of the big turd.

Well, you could commission Richard Dreyfus to recreate his Close Encounters mashed potato scene if it would make you happy. The trophy is perfect…no “little brown jug”, no “potato”, no causeway… it’s perfect…unless you like mashed potato mountains better.

They could hollow it out and get it from 309 lbs down to around 100.

I agree, I think it's cool that we have that huge, heavy thing that a talented artist created. That said, from a distance it does look exactly like a big pile of poop.

I don’t know how to post pictures on here, but my son sent me an interesting photo of Tommy from Tommy’s instagram page. It was a picture of Tommy sitting next to the Great Divide Trophy, and the caption said, “To Refrain From Imitation Is The Best Revenge- Marcus Aurelius”

Tommy is an impressive leader.
