UT-Martin

Post by GoldstoneCat » Sat Nov 30, 2024 5:27 pm

I can't find a message board anywhere, has anybody else? If any of their fans make it over here, pop in this thread and say hi. Looking forward to getting this playoff run going here.

I didn't get to see a lot today, but it seemed like they were a slower version of the Cats.

I watched their last home game against Lindenwood. Huge playoff implications for that game, which UT Martin won. Not many fans there. I doubt they have many follow them to Bozeman other than some parents.

I talked to about a dozen of their fans last time. I don’t remember if they said they were parents or not. But I’m sure they were.

So, we already know that they are good at limiting rushing yards. Curious to see what the game plan will look like. I hope we don’t back away from the run that much, unless at halftime we only have like 25 rushing yards. Sure hope it’s a sellout crowd come Saturday.

The Cats have underperformed in the run game their last two games. But both of those opponents are better than the Skyhawks. It’s the playoffs and everyone is good from here on out. But I’d be surprised if they can stop us. They looked small and slow to me.

I always wonder about these teams with small fan bases that come in to Bobcat Stadium. UTM averages around 3,800 fans per game and now comes into a stadium that averages nearly 22,000. If the fans are rocking and the Cats start out hot, look the frick out. The weather looks like it will be very nice, so there are no excuses for people to stay home and wait for the next one.

I think there should be a good crowd. Utm has won 8 of 9 games. Hope fans don’t think this is a gimme. We had 15327 last time vs utm.

UT Matin beat griz opponent Tennessee State 28-21 on the road so the always reliable comparative scores metric should tell us all we need to know tonight...

I'll start the predictions thread tomorrow, but I'd be surprised if UTM scores more than 14 next week. I'll also be surprised if we score less than 40. Dent is going to be running for his life all day.

Always impressive to beat good teams on the road.

Keep in mind that the Cats were coming off a bad loss at the gris. Not saying there’ll be 22k this time, but I’d expect more

Have they announced the time of kickoff yet?

In 2021 UTM scored zero points on offense against MSU and their only touchdown came on a fumble return. I expect similar results this time but turn the fumble return into a garbage time TD against the backup defense after MSU calls off the dogs.

Looks like SRO tickets are the only tickets available now.

Looking at UTMs roster and they are definitely built from the portal. Half the team are transfers.

We will rush just fine against them I expect. Look at who they played, not one team in the top 50 of rushing in the FCS. Their dline is big and slow, they are good at creating a mess at the LOS, however, I think our line will be able to leverage them and our backs will get their yards.

UT Martin looked all world against UNH in the Schools for the Blind Conference.
