For some reason I thought Polidore was graduating. Well that makes sense then. Kind of wish he had waited till after playoffs though. Hate the thought of drama impeding the team goals.

Agreed, and I definitely understand many of the reasons why guys make these decisions. But at the same time, I don't like the timing of the announcement. Don't need that kind of chatter in the locker room heading into the playoffs. He could have waited...

I’m sure the news of an injured backup who hasn’t played in weeks is going to rock the locker room.

Maybe I'm mis-remembering but was Stillwell the DB that got the PI then a unsportsmanlike against UNM? I think he fell out of favor and once Taki flashed and Polidore got healthy he wasn't going to see the field.

The Cats have done a fantasic job in the portal. Davis, Hall, Jones, McCullouch, Rollins, Eckert, and that doesnt include guys who have already come and gone. The portal taketh and the portal giveth. There will be plenty of talent in the portal that would love to come to a place like MSU.

No he hasn't played this season but they were expecting him to play and help this post season. It's interesting because he could play and still have another season I believe since playoffs don't count towards eligibility (don't quote me on that).

good quote. playoffs don't count towards redshirt. they may influence a med request for someone over 4 games during regular season as that is a gray area.

Rumor has it that boosters invested heavily in NIL money to keep him this season, only for him to get injured and now jump into the portal. This will undoubtedly influence how future NIL dollars are allocated in Fargo.

The Cats have done a fantasic job in the portal. Davis, Hall, Jones, McCullouch, Rollins, Eckert, and that doesnt include guys who have already come and gone. The portal taketh and the portal giveth. There will be plenty of talent in the portal that would love to come to a place like MSU.

While I’m not naive enough to think we couldn’t lose both (I almost expect to lose at least one of those two), Moore could hurt a little more I think.

Yes, we have ridiculous depth on the OL and will be good again next year, but we’re also graduating our 1st and 2nd string center, 1 full time starting guard and 1 guard that splits time. So we’re already graduating 4 of our top 7 lineman. It’d be nice to not lose an All American underclassmen as well.

Our RB room is stacked and we have Davis (likely) returning next year after his redshirt year this year. Moore will hurt but I’m more worried about losing OL coach, Al Johnson. He reminds me of Scott Huff at UW in how he’s able to get the most from his personnel and teach fundamentals.

We’re gonna have to trust the staff on their Montana-first recruiting strategy. We lost portal players last year and recovered, but the common denominator in the leaving players was that they were out-of-state kids. I think getting Montanans in to start will pay dividends in keeping a lot of the starters here in Bozeman.

Biggest curiosity to me is what they do with QB next year. Do they bring anyone in to compete with Chance/Vigen/Reed? No shot Vigen starts, tiny chance Reed works back into the starting role, it should be Chance’s job to lose. Buuuuuuut if we have a shot at landing a Cole Gonzales-type transfer do you chance it (no pun intended)?

They could easily move the TE coach over to OL.

I thought Julius had already used his redshirt year in 2019, and with him being a senior, this was last year in Bozeman???

His only option (not sure if even an option) to play next year was a medical redshirt this year which he burned by playing the kneel down drive at the end of Cat-griz. He sure looked like this was his last season after the game.
