We definitely do more with our very limited resources than any other school in the country.

That was the Stetson Hatters. They landed in BZN and bussed to Helena and then bussed back. Crazy strategy.damnyoutuesday wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2024 4:55 pmOff topic, but does anybody remember what dumb team thought staying in Helena was their best option when they played us?
Saw the UT Martin plane touchdown a little bit ago (happened to be driving by that end of the runway).

Not unheard of at all at this level as far as city size. Cheney WA comes to mind. Vermillion, SD. What is your guys' stadium capacity? Do you draw decently well? I think I remember you saying earlier in the week that the Vols suck a lot of the oxygen up in the state, even for fans of the FCS programs. At any rate, I hope you enjoy your time up here. Pop into a tailgate, I bet you'll find you can get some food abs a beer just about anyplace.Skyhawks84 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2024 5:27 pmWe definitely do more with our very limited resources than any other school in the country.

Stadium seats around 7,500. We average 3 to 4k most of the time.GoldstoneCat wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2024 5:40 pmNot unheard of at all at this level as far as city size. Cheney WA comes to mind. We were talking about it recently but in the state of Tennessee there are so many D1 programs, UTM, UTC, UTK, Memphis, Tennessee State, Tennessee Tech, Belmont, Vanderbilt, MTSU, ETSU and Austin Peay. Then we've got SIU, SEMO, and North Alabama all within a couple hours.Lots of competition for players and fans.

You and I posted back and forth early in the week. How have your thoughts on the game shifted as the week has gone on, if they have?Skyhawks84 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2024 6:08 pmStadium seats around 7,500. Re: UT-Martin
UTM is encouraged from its last game vs MSU. Starting quarterback was out, top wr was out (he’s in NFL), and only down 3 at halftime and 6 going into 4th despite that.
MSU - 16 team National Champions (most recent 2024); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

I think for UTM to have a chance they have to jump out early, maybe a trick play, score first. Skyhawks defense needs to get at least 2 turnovers and of course stop the run.GoldstoneCat wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2024 6:50 pmYou and I posted back and forth early in the week. Montana State rightly deserves to be the favorite, but I'm telling you we're not a push over. Just hope we keep it close the whole way.

I totally agree you're not a pushover. No doubt. I really like your head coach, your qb, and Baker is a fringe Sunday player. If we don't show up and execute we'll be in a dogfight. But i just think we will. I think we have an offensive line that is so physically gifted and plays as a unit. They will be the best unit on the field tomorrow because they always are. It just leaves so little margin of error for opposing teams because we stay on the field. Add in playing at home and I still think we win and cover. But you're right, your team is good, well built, and capable of putting a game together that could be won in the 4th.Skyhawks84 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2024 6:59 pmI think for UTM to have a chance they have to jump out early, maybe a trick play, score first. I don't think UTM is a slouch by any means, but I do think they are running straight into a buzzsaw.Skyhawks84 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2024 6:59 pmI think for UTM to have a chance they have to jump out early, maybe a trick play, score first. What were the areas that led to the 4 losses. Were there defensive letdown, poor offensive execution, turnovers?Skyhawks84 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2024 6:59 pmI think for UTM to have a chance they have to jump out early, maybe a trick play, score first. No reason UTM shouldn't think they can come in and compete based on last game. It will be interesting to see how much each team has grown and how much being able to throw the ball will shift things. I don't think we will bury them early like we did Maine but eventually we will wear them down and the avalanche will come today. Go Cats!!

Idaho vs Lehigh? Guess it depends on what Idaho shows up.
