Semifinal Time
Cats host USD and NDSU hosts SDSU
Both should be excellent games and the cats should be around 3-7 point favorites and NDSU should be slight favorites. USD is going to test how good this cats team is and this game will tell us if we will come home from Frisco happy or if things will be interesting. SDSU looks much improved and NDSU doesn’t look spectacular.
Personally I expect Bobcat Stadium and Tommy to be too much for USD and I believe SDSU will topple NDSU. Going to be fun

Re: Semifinal Time
I think USD is going to have to play a whole lot better than they did against Davis or the game will become Idahoesque. Unknown how USD will handle playing outside in Bozeman December weather (that doesn't look to too bad).
Can't make up my mind as to which is better - 55-21 or 48-14, but 34-11 will do.

Re: Semifinal Time
USD has proven that they can play with the other Dakota schools. I absolutely can’t wait for how crazy our house is going to be on Saturday. Really hope we can get some guys healthy by next weekend.

I was thinking the same thing. Three points for home field, and 7 for being outside.

Re: Semifinal Time
I'd say 3 for home field and at least 7 because MSU is simply better than they are.

MSU will be 7 point favorites, line will move to 10.5 by midweek.
Cats by 14 is what I’m thinking, 21 if Scottre is healthy.

I think we win by more than 10, I was thinking of the betting line.

I just checked on FanDuel.
Cats -6.5
SDSU -2.5
I think we win by more than that. I also think SDSU will cover.

Re: Semifinal Time
Based on yesterday's game, which I only was able to listen to between driving to stores while Christmas shopping, where are USD's strengths and weaknesses? Where can the Cats find the most success? Who needs to be covered and spied? The turnovers yesterday sounded just crazy, can't expect that to happen again, so who needs to step up to offset the things they do well?

SDSU is favored? Wow. I mean I think they win but it’s in Fargo and the Bison won the first game.

Is MSU the best left? From what I saw yesterday, all four teams seem on the same level.

SDSU is the best defense, MSU is the best offense. I think the Cats are the most complete team left.Common Cat wrote: ↑Sun Dec 15, 2024 10:21 amIs MSU the best left? From what I saw yesterday, all four teams seem on the same level.

I didn’t get to see much of the SDSU game yesterday as I was taking care of work around the house. I did watch a fair amount of the NDSU game and came away feeling we are similar to them.Prodigal Cat wrote: ↑Sun Dec 15, 2024 10:25 amSDSU is the best defense, MSU is the best offense. Re: Semifinal Time
If you give their QB time, he's good and will find the open receiver. They have a good, strong running back as well. Davis lost Larson early in the game due to an ankle injury but still rolled up 430 yards on South Dakota. Hastings was on and off all day long and made some horrendous throws. Davis also had some blown coverages and left guys wide open for TDs. South Dakota also had two turnovers inside the five. It was a weird game to say the least. The fact that Davis was able to gain so much yardage despite having their best weapon on the bench for three quarters leads me to believe the Bobcats can do so as well. South Dakota will score, but the Cats should be able to score more and that's all that matters.nanacat wrote: ↑Sun Dec 15, 2024 10:04 amBased on yesterday's game, which I only was able to listen to between driving to stores while Christmas shopping, where are USD's strengths and weaknesses? Doesn’t look like Coon has any stats on the year for South Dakota. Is he injured? Also, they have a running back with the last name of Jones-Logan. How odd is that?

Great! Thanks for that. With the mission the Cats team is on, it's going to take a perfect game by USD to beat them, and from the sounds of it, yesterday's game was far from perfect. That said, I'm sure their coaches will work to fix those problems and bring a better prepared team to Bozeman. I have total confidence in the Cats coaches and players to be very prepared as well and bring a terrific game plan into Saturday.89Cat wrote: ↑Sun Dec 15, 2024 10:28 amIf you give their QB time, he's good and will find the open receiver.
