I just think it’s funny that these players are all offered by their former head coach within hours of him leaving and the players going in the portal. College semi pro football is just an interesting business these days.
Yeah, I’m sure Eck is just trying to plug holes as quickly as he can with bodies that he is used to. The old Choate “offer everyone” rule until you get settled and can build a program.

I know it’s probably 99% he ends up in UNM but the Cats recruited him out of high school and I think we should at least make another attempt. You gotta think last night would be a selling point. Go play for a losing program in front of hundreds or come here and ball out in front of that crowd every home game.

Last night may have been a selling point for HIM but was it a selling point for MSU watching his performance?

I remember Kenny Eiden beating him like a drum for a sack. He sort of stuck his elbow out and it grazed Eiden's arm as he got a direct hit on Layne. He and their center had those funny helmets that look like they have an oversized frontal lobe!

I know that when you have a season like we have, it’s going to be hard to keep our entire staff, but would be absolutely amazing if they all stayed. You take a lineman like this guy and put him in a system like ours, with this staff and there is a good chance he is being talked about playing on Sunday. That’s the difference.

This is part of portal I don't understand. Fife never really stood out at Fresno State, drops down and has a good but not great year, even if it was his best. Transfers again and moves back up? Everyone just seems to be chasing and not developing.

I'm guessing his reason for leaving Missoula was different than why he left Fresno.

He acted like a total punk last night. Standing on the field until his defense came on more than once. The worst attitude I’ve seen from an opposing QB. Do we really want that on our team?
