This is part of portal I don't understand. Fife never really stood out at Fresno State, drops down and has a good but not great year, even if it was his best. Transfers again and moves back up? Everyone just seems to be chasing and not developing.

I'm guessing his reason for leaving Missoula was different than why he left Fresno.

I understand that part. But if he had to drop down last year what did he prove to go back up.

Have you ever seen Tommy or any of our QBs stand on the field with their hands on their hips pouting while the rest of the offense leaves the field. Stand there while the defense literally starts lining up around him then finally walk off the field? Ever??? Vigen would lose his mind if any of our players acted like that.

This is the dumbest thing I’ve read on here this week. Kids a competitor and was disappointed in the way the game was going. Wasn’t flipping off fans, standing over players talking smack, taking cheap shots. Just standing there taking in the moment. Just top tier dumb takes on here.

I remember Kenny Eiden beating him like a drum for a sack. He sort of stuck his elbow out and it grazed Eiden's arm as he got a direct hit on Layne. He and their center had those funny helmets that look like they have an oversized frontal lobe!

Of course the answer is no, but you can't blame him for not wanting to spend his last year of college football sitting on the bench in Missoula. Clearly Bobby and him did not see eye to eye.

E I E I Yat is dUMb's Golden Child that will finally prove that Booby Hauck Tuah can develop a QB from the ground up. Unfortunately, there isn't much of a team left to build around him. I am sure the coaches over there are scanning the portal looking for any scraps left on the plate.

Why do folks think we need these FCS QBs? I wouldn’t want any of the QBs we faced this season. I’m sure that if the Cats thought they needed a QB, they’d look for an FBS dropdown.

Especially FCS QBs that quite clearly don't fit the style of offense MSU prefers to run and that has been so successful for them. I think Chance Wilson will be a great replacement for Tommy and am also excited about the freshmen they've got coming in. The main question to me is the backup QB spot if Jordan Reed transfers out, will either freshman be ready to step in or do they need a transfer guy there?

Pat Duchien (sp) is going to be a quality QB as well.

I is impossible to overstate the value of a year’s development in the gris system.

I is impossible to overstate the value of a year’s development in the gris system.

Because he difference between the Mid-tier of FCS and lower tier FBS (bottom of Mountain West, bottom of MAC and the Sun) is negligible. Fife basically has the skill to be QB1 at schools in this range e.g., Idaho, UM, Weber, Fresno, Texas State etc.
