Re: Cheerleaders left out of Championship
Boosters buying plane tickets for players to travel to Frisco would be a big, big no-no according to NCAA rules. The travel party limit sucks as everyone wants to go to Frisco on the NCAA's dime but it is what it is and affects a lot more than just the cheer team. Hopefully any members of the team who were freshmen in 2021 and didn't get to go then can be on the plane this time as seniors!

it is not about funding the whole trip, They were not even offered a student ticket. They were told they could get a student ticket but would have to pay for it themselves. And nobody said they needed plane tickets. There are many other ways of getting there that does not involve the expensive plane tickets. The plane ticket cost is a whole other story.

Goodness. So they knew only 12 get on the sidelines and the rest would have to buy student tickets and travel, etc.? I sympathize, but this seems more like a grievance session more suited for Facebook.

Agreed, the 145 seats on the team plane will fill up very quickly so tough decisions will have to be made all around about who gets a seat and who has to travel on their own if they want to go. Here's hoping that trips to the Championship game become common enough that all of the players and cheerleaders get to experience the trip at least once!

Let me ask a few clarifying questions here.
Is this different than when we went to frisco the last time?
Is the dance team going?
Do all 100+ players get to travel?
Whose budget is paying for the band? Athletic Dept? College of arts and architecture? University general fund?
Didn’t a bunch of cheer squad members get in a big van and road trip down last time?

I dont know the answer to these questions. but perhaps someone else does. I am not even sure if it is 12 cheerleaders that are not able to go. It may be less. I know 12 are going and I was assuming there was 24 total cheerleaders but it could be less. Maybe there is only 18 or 20 total. And after looking at some photos, I think that is is closer to 18-20 total. So if that is the case, this is only 6-8 additional. I just heard the story how some Cheerleaders are being left out and thought if I posted perhaps someone will see this who has some authority to make this happen for the rest of the team.
I do know that the parents of the cheerleaders have been getting 2 free tickets so they can see their child cheer, which is great, but perhaps for this one game they could have use those funds these tickets would generate or cost or how ever it was funded and moved it over to these Cheerleaders so ALL the cheerleaders could at least be at the game regardless if on sideline or in the stands.

It doesn’t sound like you have a lot of information here. It’s generally a wise thing to gather facts before saying things like administrators only care about revenue and that they should be ashamed.
That first post read like a group text of entitled, angry chreer moms.

Re: Cheerleaders left out of Championship
There's a massive difference between giving cheer team parents free tickets to home games, and being able to do the same for the National Championship game where there are way fewer tickets available to go around. If you're mad that MSU didn't buy game tickets for the rest of the cheer team in addition to the 12 the NCAA allows to be on the sidelines, that's fine I guess. But I'm not sure if you understand the full picture of how many tickets that each team has to give away or sell.MSU Cheer Fan wrote: ↑Sun Dec 29, 2024 12:02 pmI do know that the parents of the cheerleaders have been getting 2 free tickets so they can see their child cheer, which is great, but perhaps for this one game they could have use those funds these tickets would have generated or cost or how ever it was funded and moved it over to these Cheerleaders so ALL the cheerleaders could at least be at the game regardless if on sideline or in the stands.

I am not mad at anyone, other than I feel for these Cheerleaders.... I am just being a voice and I personally don't know any of the Cheerleaders, I just know what it is like to be left out and feel for them and think it would be great if something could be done. After all "Tis the Season"MSU01 wrote: ↑Sun Dec 29, 2024 12:14 pmThere's a massive difference between giving cheer team parents free tickets to home games, and being able to do the same for the National Championship game where there are way fewer tickets available to go around. So are you saying that the Cheerleaders parents did not get free tickets to the National Championship game? And do you really know or are you just assuming? Because I heard different and I don't really know the correct answer. But if they did that was 24 tickets that went out that could have help fund these other cheerleaders so they could at least be in the stands. I am just stating that is common sense and if the parents did not get free tickets then ok, I am sorry for mentioning this...As a parent, I would love to see my child cheering, but I would also be willing to pay for the ticket as well so the rest of the cheerleaders could be even partially funded because they all deserve to be at the Championship Game .And to be honest I don't know whom to get a hold of or how to start a go fund me account. I am not in any position to do that. But I am in a position where I could add a few dollars to the pot and appreciate AFCAT for offering as well.

Does the size of the stadium have anything to do with all of these restrictions? It's pitiful that the stadium only holds 20k.
It's a shame the game is not being played where it is headed the next two years in Vandy's new stadium in Nashville, which I believe will
have a capacity of around 38k.

The capacity isn't an issue most of the time. No matter who's playing the next two years the game will most definitely not sell out.aucat wrote: ↑Sun Dec 29, 2024 2:33 pmDoes the size of the stadium have anything to do with all of these restrictions? It's pitiful that the stadium only holds 20k.

I mean i guess that's what I thought of, that cheerleaders usually are associated with for fundraising. It was just one suggestion. I mean there's cash calendars. Gun give aways.

Re: Cheerleaders left out of Championship
So to sum up:
I’m sad about something I heard but have no actual factual information and so I got to work quickly posting a desperate plea for someone other than myself to fix this thing that may or may not be a problem.
This, to me, is a nothing burger. 12 cheerleaders are getting to go. The rest are cheerleaders! Imagine if they asked any male student with a van to road trip to Frisco. Kid would probably be in heaven. Or what if these parents that have been getting free tickets rented a van? There are a ton of simple solutions to this sorry excuse of a problem.

It’s not. Have a cringeworthy fundraiser and make a go fund me page for game tickets and gas. Find a van. Problem solved.

My assumption is your a New Recruit… first post was this cheerleading misfortune…a disgruntled parent of a cheerleader? I’d stop bitching on BN get a holdMSU Cheer Fan wrote: ↑Sun Dec 29, 2024 4:52 pmYes, it is a problem, and I am not going to get into how I know this.utucats wrote: ↑Sun Dec 29, 2024 3:41 pmSo to sum up:

of Leon Costello, get a cost figured out on what it cost
To get these other cheer personal to Frisco. Then hit up BN and the QB Club. If you don’t have the means to do that then hopefully another parent of a cheerleader squad kiddo has the brains to figure it out. No one’s going to do it for them. A lot us will donate but there needs be plan in action and a cost to do it…

I was sorta wondering..... if your post is truthful when you said you are not related and don't even know any cheerleaders, seems weird that you would even know about this "problem" let alone feel compelled to make a plea about this on Bobcat nation.MSU Cheer Fan wrote: ↑Sun Dec 29, 2024 4:52 pmYes, it is a problem, and I am not going to get into how I know this.utucats wrote: ↑Sun Dec 29, 2024 3:41 pmSo to sum up:
