They weren't in the portal until after the season...doesn't mean they weren't already being recruited and knew the offers/$$ available.

Re: Bobcat Portal News Only
If it is in fact "a family" or if it is "a job" is part of the issue. My commitment to my family is far greater than my commitment to my co-workers. That may need to be defined. Everyone will have a different feeling of what that means but at the end of the day teaching commitment and follow through is never a bad thing. Because the grass is alway greener analogy generally does not play out in reality as someone else said.BobcatDel wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2025 3:51 pmIt does act like that if the family needed you and had certain expectations of you and felt you had committed to help them for another year and to help your brother be ready to fill your absence and help the family achieve a major milestone…..and you decide to run off for your own self gratification and leave them worse off with unexpected contributions to fill….yes it does act like that…..maybe you weren’t really part of this family thing all along…… and the real world does create family rifts….BobcatBuiltTexan wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2025 3:32 pmThat doesn't happen because when your brother has a chance to do better for themselves even if that means leaving you behind you are happy for them. And how do you know that it isn't? because money is involved they can't be proud of going to play at a bigger school? Those kids worked hard, put in the sweat, and then performed on the field and now have a chance to play at a bigger fbs school.....they shouldn't be proud of that?MTnative wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2025 3:48 pmHow can you possibly be proud of making a choice on team/institution when it really isn’t about either of those things!?BobcatBuiltTexan wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2025 3:43 pmSee that's your feelings getting in the way again, and I get it...you're a diehard cats fan...i really do get it....but these guys haven't gloated, they don't apologize...they thank you who they would like to thank and the announce where they are going....should they not be proud of working their ass off, playing well for a top tier fcs school and being able to make the jump to an fbs school? Why should they not be just as proud for going to their new destination as they were when they chose MSU?TomCat88 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2025 3:39 pmThat’s a good point. It’s personal and why I think they should keep it low key. I read that Humphrey and White entered the Portal. Who is the third RB who is leaving?

Titan may be moved to LT but I really think Cedric did a good job starting in that spot for the first few games in 2024. We've all kind of known about Moore for a while so I've felt good about Cedric and Titan being our tackles the next two years....or at least in 2025 (don't want to overcommit to more than one year in the NIL era). Also thought Titan had a great title game against a great opponent. He's clearly the best offensive lineman on the roster and is a future captain. That's what I think of Titan and his future role.Camo_Cat wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2025 2:10 pm@VimSince03 Where do you see Titan filling a role on the line next year?VimSince03 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2025 1:27 pmDon't be surprised if he's our starting center next year. Mastel stays at LG and Rollins slides right into RG. If Sain comes back, then JT and Burke our the starting guards. Pretty happy we have Cedric Jefferson right now!

Re: Bobcat Portal News Only
see in my original response i had included a story....i'll include it now since you opened the door to it.......i have seen kids that went off to school come home because "family" expected them to help them pay the bills and they were off "playing that football". real family would never tell you to not go off and better yourself when you have the opportunity.....they didn't commit for beyond ONE year, scholarships are only ONE year....you say it's self gratification, I say it is taking advantage of a opportunity.....they didn't leave the team worse off because we have players to step in and I feel they are more talented than the ones that are leaving(except maybe moore). you are correct the real world creates rifts because families some families don't look out for each other and uplift them....they want to hold on to them and keep them from ever going anywhere until THEY are done with them.....I'll never agree to that....if you have an opportunity to better yourself, assess the pros and cons and if you think its what's best for you I want to see YOU win, go be great.BobcatDel wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2025 3:51 pmIt does act like that if the family needed you and had certain expectations of you and felt you had committed to help them for another year and to help your brother be ready to fill your absence and help the family achieve a major milestone…..and you decide to run off for your own self gratification and leave them worse off with unexpected contributions to fill….yes it does act like that…..maybe you weren’t really part of this family thing all along…… and the real world does create family rifts….BobcatBuiltTexan wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2025 3:32 pmThat doesn't happen because when your brother has a chance to do better for themselves even if that means leaving you behind you are happy for them. I thought that Hunter Provience and Rylan Schlepp played pretty well this season, so the cupboard isn't bare. And as you alluded to, Luvens Valcin has the makings to be a good one. What say you VIM @VimSince03 ?VimSince03 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2025 3:16 pmI know we can feel any emotions we want on guys leaving but good for Rohan as its a good offer he's getting...but Luvens Valcin is a flat stud and is ready for that H-back role. Max Murphy is also turning into a fine player. Good for Rohan but embrace the development these coaches have been doing everyone!

Those two are both bonafide studs. I dont think either will move into Jones roll.LilRockiesBobcat wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2025 4:14 pmI thought that Hunter Provience and Rylan Schlepp played pretty well this season, so the cupboard isn't bare. I'm honestly surprised that anyone is caught off guard by this. He's from Canada and had one solid season—it felt pretty obvious to me. I’m not sure he’ll land a massive NIL deal, but he strikes me as someone who would jump at a better offer without much hesitation.

The backup Max Murphy was a special teams gem and I have a feeling he fits that role better and it keeps Provience and Schlepp in the spots they already have down.nanacat wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2025 4:25 pmWhy not?TomCat88 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2025 4:24 pmThose two are both bonafide studs. Different playing styles. Snell, Jones, Valcin, are better equipped to be a move/flex TE.nanacat wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2025 4:25 pmWhy not?TomCat88 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2025 4:24 pmThose two are both bonafide studs. Yeah its Murphy or Valens for next year's starting H-Back...probably will be a mix of both.TomCat88 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2025 4:27 pmThe backup Max Murphy was a special teams gem and I have a feeling he fits that role better and it keeps Provience and Schlepp in the spots they already have down.nanacat wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2025 4:25 pmWhy not?TomCat88 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 08, 2025 4:24 pmThose two are both bonafide studs.
