I guess we know Jhase McMillan will be leaving as soon as he gets a pay day! Buyer beware, stay away from his NIL shop goods!!!
You nor I know that... but do as you please. He's a good kid that if you ask any coach, player or parent about him will have nothing but positive things to say... it's what it is
I’m frustrated too. But to make decisions on how you feel about a player or if you’re going to support them because of other players isn’t quite right. Support the guys while they are here.
What I can say is Jhase's dad stays away from this board purposefully. And jhase rarely gets on social media at all. He, jhase, could careless if you support him or not... the kid is focused and outside voices mean little to him... if he cared about what people thought he wouldn't be at Montana St in the first place so take that for what it's worth.....
Yeah, I, not sure what Jhase has to do with this. To pick him out is kind of bizarre.
It's weirdo behavior and quiet frankly is the type of behavior that is very off putting to a family member. Like I get you're a super bobcat fan but to make a public decree to NOT support a player is something that can easily keep kids from wanting to come here.... but hey who cares right?
Wait wait wait, I can take some blame on this. When I was having a meltdown about losing people I asked Texas how long Jhase was planning on staying… so I’ll admit to that. Never said I would not support him, I’m actually pumped about Jhase, and it’s a big reason I’m not to up in arms about losing some DB’s
Not you..... the other post where my guy said that everyone should stay away from his NIL shop goods..... then another poster backed it up by saying to get merch from some other place... like it's that kind of weirdo behavior that depending on the family will keep kids from coming here...... because what I see is if you're a really good player from out of state the montana folk are going to think you're going to leave so they shouldn't support you with an NIL.... that tells me as a parent of athlete I shouldn't consider msu cause you only support montana....... I'm sure the out of state families would love that.
I interpreted the post as donate to direct NIL rather than products for specific players. Some will likely do that. Used to be able to buy a young players jersey and wear it 4 years, not that might not be the case.
Can't do that anyway with how often they change numbers anymore.

I do feel like some of this will be alleviated once all the Covid players have graduated.

Yep and once the big pocket donors realize it doesn't help them win.
Or when % that dont find a home starts being looked at. The number that are somewhat guaranteed a spot if they enter still will, but the ones maybe just looking for more time might not.

So in summary, we will now put the players names on the back of the jerseys just like the professionals, much to the delight of Bobcat nation.
Welcome to the new world order. Is it midnight yet?

The State of Montana is Bobcat country.

Part of the issue right now: only Montana State and North Dakota State players are eligible to enter the portal. Maybe a few fbs teams. So all the vultures are focused on a few teams.
Definitely overlooked this aspect… But it has to be damn true!
All of these players would have left regardless of when they could enter the portal.
Polidore drastically changed his mind in the past 24 hours.. Do you think he was getting calls for the past month with potential offers/places and was just like, — no thanks? Or do you think it really warmed up for him in the past 24 hours?
I think the attention of the national championship game, allowed big schools to focus on just two teams and look at film and then research from there. Being on national TV with the exposure on Monday night with no competition probably helped or hurt however, you wanna look at it
Also doesn't help being the last two teams...with the most talent...

I'm sure NDSU is also keeping players based upon their history of having guys get drafted. Six players have been drafted from NDSU since 2020 (5 in the first four rounds) whereas the Cats have had 2 (both in the same year). More NDSU players have also gotten minicamp invites and have signed as undrafted free agents. It would be great to see Cat players stay in Bozeman and potentially start to build that same momentum.

You want to hear something depressing. Just talked to offensively player who is a starter and touchdown maker. I asked if he will be back and he said he doesn’t know. He said with all the portal money he is taking calls and just got off the phone with a Big 12 school. I said I hope you’re back, and it’s a pleasure watching you. He said he would most likely be back but hasn’t decided yet. He also said the cats are targeting the QB from Stanford and the Martinez kid that played at NAU then went to Baylor.

Yeah it’s about the money folks and it sucks.
I'm going to assume Jones...when he turned in that 22.1 mph run vs New Mexico...my first thought was, "that was incredible"...my second thought was, that's elite speed and a whole bunch of FBS coaches/scouts/analysts just sat up a little straighter.

I took it the same way.... don't support the individual.... as stated I'm sure out of state parents are gonna love to know that's how thier kids are viewed and treated. I'm sure that will make them want to leave even more. The approach of some of these fans is wild to me. This mindset doesn't bode well for the future of msu...... have no faith in the outsiders don't support the outsiders.

I’d say Jhase and his father are just reverting 25 years to when no one had all this stuff. I think they are playing it 100% correctly. This is a fan board, not a player board or a parent board. And I don’t believe at all that he doesn’t care. I suspect the roar of 22,777 voices on a sunny October afternoon means just as much to him as anyone else. Go, Jhase!

All these takes will pass in the next month or so, and these is an extremely small sample size of the support. Most social media posts are fans thanking players for their time and excited to watch them play somewhere else. Only player who I can see actually getting crap is Dru, making a I’m staying followed by a I'm out post, I’ve made much worse mistakes than that. HOWEVER, I think our Collective and our player funding needs to be a bit more transparent with monies in the collective chest and start smothering the state, former athletes and alumni with information. Only place I hear it advertised off campus is Colter’s show and some social media. Throwing a large net out will get more fish, and don’t go only after the affluent, every donation helps. We all have favorite players, most of mine have been out of staters, I’m sure many more feel that way, problem is many, especially older generations have no clue on how any of this works. Knowledge is power and they need to start promoting better, maybe adopt pieces of successful collectives.

Look man, it’s a fan message board. Most everybody here is going to be overly emotional about good players leaving right now.

And come next fall, we’ll all be cheering like crazy for the all of the players that are here. Don’t take this too seriously. The future of MSU is more than fine. If any player or parent is swayed by the opinion of some randoms on a message board, then that’s pretty weak.

This community supports outsiders like crazy.

This is precisely why it’s so frustrating when they use all that support as a stepping stone to a pay check.

The reason is seems wild to you is that your interest in the team is limited to your interest in one player. Most of us actually care about the program.

I took it the same way.... don't support the individual.... as stated I'm sure out of state parents are gonna love to know that's how thier kids are viewed and treated. I'm sure that will make them want to leave even more. The approach of some of these fans is wild to me. I'm just hoping they are the few and not the many because it darn sure seems right now that it's the many and not the few. This mindset doesn't bode well for the future of msu...... have no faith in the outsiders don't support the outsiders.
I donate money to the Collective every month, which distributes the money to all of the players in the Collective. I cant donate money to a particular person on the team without buying their merch. More people are helped donating money to everyone than purchasing individual merch. I don’t think that’s a bad thing and younger players get more help that way.

One guy wrote something stupid about not purchasing Jhase’s merch, not the majority of the people who post here.

Personally I'm more excited about the 2025 season now than I was five days ago. So long to those who don't want to be here anymore and it will be fun to see who comes in. MSU will undoubtedly be a desirable landing spot for some very talented incoming transfers.

Also, if anyone's feeling a little down about the football team I'd suggest giving basketball a watch this winter! The women in particular could have a historically good team this year, 14-2, 4-0 in the Big Sky, and just beat the co-favorite NAU on the road yesterday.
Yes! WBB is off to a great, are fun to watch, and probably aren’t anywhere near their best with all of the freshmen and injured returnees that are being assimilated. They’ve already beaten both Idahos, and both Northerns (Arizona and Colorado). Those are most of the teams that were picked to finish well in the conference, and picked to finish above our fourth place. No way — I truly think this team has some small chance of going undefeated through the conference. They are playing twelve deep and there is no drop-off.

Taco seems more likely than Jones. Guess we'll see.

Go, Jhase!
Take the time to get to know him and you'll know that when I say he doesn't care how you feel... he really doesn't care what you think. You aren't in the program with him, you didn't raise him, you don't coach him so your opinion doesn't matter to him... it's how he's been taught to be by his dad and mom. They were athletes and they know fans make stupid comments so they encourage him to limit his social media and don't get caught up dealing with fans.

This community supports outsiders like crazy.

This is precisely why it’s so frustrating when they use all that support as a stepping stone to a pay check.

The reason is seems wild to you is that your interest in the team is limited to your interest in one player. Most of us actually care about the program.
The way this board acts towards the players is why my interest is certain players and the whole program. The quote program includes the fans and some of yall the way you turn on players that helped you get to the the NC is crazy to me. PEOPLE will always come before the institution for me. These athletes are people so the way I've been raised is that the people come ahead of the school itself. You don't feel that way... cook we just have different view points. I'm good with that.

Call it weak but when parents are sending their children 20+hrs away from home they want to know they will be good all around. They don't know who on here has the power to move mountains or if any of these posts influence your donors. Parents look at and for everything when their kid is involved and they don't know they area they are sending them to. My mother refused to let me go to Ole miss because they were the rebels and have a confederate general as their mascot. My mother and father grew up during the civil rights era so they are extremely sensitive to any type of racial situations. You may find it very stupid but little things matter to parents, especially when they are going far away.
