I’m frustrated too. But to make decisions on how you feel about a player or if you’re going to support them because of other players isn’t quite right. Support the guys while they are here.

What I can say is Jhase's dad stays away from this board purposefully. And jhase rarely gets on social media at all. He, jhase, could careless if you support him or not... the kid is focused and outside voices mean little to him... if he cared about what people thought he wouldn't be at Montana St in the first place so take that for what it's worth.....

I’d say Jhase and his father are just reverting 25 years to when no one had all this stuff. I think they are playing it 100% correctly. This is a fan board, not a player board or a parent board. And I don’t believe at all that he doesn’t care. I suspect the roar of 22,777 voices on a sunny October afternoon means just as much to him as anyone else. Go, Jhase!

Take the time to get to know him and you'll know that when I say he doesn't care how you feel... he really doesn't care what you think. You aren't in the program with him, you didn't raise him, you don't coach him so your opinion doesn't matter to him... it's how he's been taught to be by his dad and mom. They were athletes and they know fans make stupid comments so they encourage him to limit his social media and don't get caught up dealing with fans.

When I said he does care, I didn’t mean about those meaningless things — sorry it wasn’t clear. I’ll bet when he does care is on the field. I suspect he’s a great competitor. Ignoring fan rabble is a great strength. I watched some of his track meets and was really pleased when we got him. If only all young students could have parents to keep them as grounded.

I think all the folks on here who believe these players don’t take their commitment to the Cats seriously should read this article and see that Moore (and others) actively turned down opportunities in order to play for MSU this year and help the Cats make a title run. The program clearly means something to them, even if in some cases it doesn’t mean staying for four years.

I don't suppose I'm supposed to say this but I'm happy for him. He gets to play 2 hrs. from home for the team he cheered for as a kid, and a Big10 team to boot. Must be a dream come true. I'm really glad the Cats had him this year and I hope he does well in the Big10 next!

I think all the folks on here who believe these players don’t take their commitment to the Cats seriously should read this article and see that Moore (and others) actively turned down opportunities in order to play for MSU this year and help the Cats make a title run. The program clearly means something to them, even if in some cases it doesn’t mean staying for four years.

But I've been reliably told here that all these guys are just money-grabbing mercenaries who didn't put any thought into their decisions other than who's offering the biggest check.

I feel like I've gone through all of the stages of grief on this....hahaha.

I think I've finally come to part where I can accept the new reality. If we are a great team with great players, the players and coaches are going to leave for bigger (not necessarily better) opportunities. That's just the new reality of it all.

I guess it is the new reality. I don't see a lot of players being poached from losing programs, so I guess this is a good thing, even if it feels bad.

Did we not "poach" Rohan Jones from a losing Maine team?

Of course, nobody here thought it was poaching. It was just him wanting to play for a better program. Funny how that works.

If it is true that Scottre, Rohan, and Cole were contacted by other schools prior to entering the portal, that is "poaching" vs. taking a player who had already put themselves in the portal. My opinion.

Great question. I think its mostly the FBS tampering piece of this whole thing that frustrates most of us, which BTW is against the rules. Seems pretty unlikely that MSU is calling up guys from the CAA and offering them NIL money to transfer out to the Big Sky.

That's what I'm thinking too. And the NCAA doesn't have the stones to fix the problem they started. Cart - horse thing. Should have establish a plan that was legal, and beneficial for college football as a whole, but they didn't, so here we are.

Exactly--for me it's this, coupled with seeing guys like Gilman and Lance stay at UM and NDSU respectively, that has me the most frustrated. I thought with the run MSU made and Vigen staying that guys would stay...obviously that was wrong--basically any really good out of state player that could have come back is not. It might be the new norm--but it sucks.

I think NDSU lost 8 transfers to the FBS last year. They're not immune either.

And lets not forget that this year, and in past years, there are plenty of players that had opportunity to leave and decided to stay.

Let me get this straight… I’m a starter at my current school or going to get a significant amount of snaps and if I transfer to another school for some cash and there is no guarantee of playing, I’ll still play in the NFL…. Ok great sign me up

Looks like he was primarily used as a wildcat QB for Stanford this year and holds the single season QB rushing TD record for Stanford. He was offered by Boise State, Syracuse, Louisville and yes Montana State out of HS. Looks like a TD machine. Could he be the Sean Chambers to Chance Wilson or are we not going back there?

I’ve been trying to look for indicators that he might come to MSU. There are little things, like you mentioned that look promising. Vigen following him is big. Vigen doesn’t follow many guys unless they have been offered or are ready to be offered. I always look to see if any players follow recruits and Eckert does follow him. I’m guessing Eckert may have sponsored a visit. Lamson is also being looked at by some MW programs and other Big Sky programs. He hasn’t listed any offers as of a few hours ago.
