Maybe we can have one where we go with whatever QB Vigen is feeling for that day.
I'm not picky, anyone with some info is good enough for me Thanks!
“Don’t need him so it’s OK to transfer.”
I realize that came out much more harsh than intended. What I meant to say was it was understandable he was transferring due to wanting to play and with Sanstead and the 2 kickers recruited, he wasn't going to get that at MSU.
You could have received a free year of grad school and played football for Oregon and you didn’t even try to get a medical waiver for the extra year of eligibility? Huh, who advised you against it?SparkCat wrote: ↑Sun Jan 12, 2025 4:21 pmRight, what we have like a 1.5 days for incoming announcements for Spring Ball. Looking back I really screwed myself out of using a medical when I could have or not transferring to Oregon, but then I thought it was freaking awesome that I got an education paid for.KIX wrote: ↑Sun Jan 12, 2025 4:16 pmBetter get started on the "player addition" part of your post quickly or we'll be on the outside looking in...VimSince03 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 12, 2025 4:12 pmWe literally haven't even got to our player addition part of the off-season ladies and gentlemen. Polidore, Johnson, and Powdrell leaving takes top talent away from the secondary but we've recruited well there and in high volume. Buckle in and let's at least see who we have added by signing day. SDSU just added like 5 dropdown FBS players. I'm not too concerned.
I was a track dork. Had a little to much of a rub some dirt on it mentality and had an awful season because of it (was a legit injury, and unfortunately still pay the price for it). Had a few opportunities to transfer, however, felt obligated to not leave. Years later, I’m just figuring out that staying loyal is great and all, however, I have passed on great career opportunities up until the last year or so. Had always been a bit of a people pleaser.PapaG wrote: ↑Mon Jan 13, 2025 9:25 pmYou could have received a free year of grad school and played football for Oregon and you didn’t even try to get a medical waiver for the extra year of eligibility? Yeah watching some highlights of Lamson, he has a nice arm, seems like he throws on the run well and can run it if needed. After this year, I’m in favor of the 1 QB system.BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Mon Jan 13, 2025 9:42 pmRegarding Lamson, he can pass more than fine. I’d also be shocked if they went to a 2 QB system again. I firmly believe they did that more out of necessity than want. I also think they want QB’s that are better passers than what we’ve had.
It just proved so much more effective this season. There were some highlights for sure with the big cat, little cat, but both of them did better when they were the only guy.Bocephus wrote: ↑Mon Jan 13, 2025 9:59 pmYeah watching some highlights of Lamson, he has a nice arm, seems like he throws on the run well and can run it if needed. Solid post. After the NDSU title game, I think losing Rohan is the biggest L we took. Just a unique player with unique skillset. And he was one of the few who showed up from the start in the title game. Prior to the NDSU title game, I would've said losing Polidore would be. But yes, the Secondary is the big question mark like you say.Slackjaw wrote: ↑Mon Jan 13, 2025 2:59 pmEverybody needs to chill out. And you definitely shouldn't be calling players out that are still on the team. Here's my perspective, which some of you need a little more of, on all the transfer outs so far.
Portal out:
Conner Moore: Everybody knew this was going to happen for awhile. No surprise. We will be fine. Cedric played pretty well when he had too.
Jared White: Buried on the depth chart. We will be fine
Blake Stillwell: Passed up on depth chart. We will be fine.
Cole Bullock: Buried on depth chart. We will be fine
Marqui Johnson: Buried on depth chart. We will be fine
Elijah Elliott: Buried on depth chart. We will be fine
Scottre Humphrey: I like what we have returning in the that room, also, there's a reason this position isn't valued in NFL. We will be fine.
Rohan Jones: As long as his replacement wants to block on the perimeter. Should be fine.
Garrett Walchli: Buried on depth chart. We will be fine
Lonyatta Alexander Jr.: Ryan King had passed him up on the depth chart. We will be fine
Andrew Powdrell: Physical, good in run support as cb. His coverage skills can be replaced. Secondary is a big question mark
Jon Johnson: If it wasn't for the recent JuCo thing we weren't going to have him anyway. Secondary is a big question mark
Casey Kautzman : Passed up on depth chart. We will be fine
Dru Polidore: Biggest loss in my mind. However, we were 6-0 w/o him and Taki started to show something. Secondary is big question mark
So the biggest portal hit in my mind is the secondary. It will be interesting to see if we bring in some competition there. If the coaches don't bring in anybody, that's probably a good sign.
Like I said, maybe bigger offers will come in, but so far it’s exclusively G5 and if he ends up leaving to go to a program that the Cats would likely beat head to head, that’s just lame.
Yeah, a little surprised better offers aren't on the table for a guy who was 2nd team all Big Sky as a true Sophomore and had legit speed. Coaches must not like his tape that much. Agree with folks who say that given the totality of things, not really sure that transferring to a mid-tier G5 team is really an upgrade on MSU, even in terms of your pro prospects-- maybe a cautionary tale for future transfers

The drop on 3rd down when it was 25-28 was more on Tommy than Rohan. Still should’ve been caught, but it was si late it wouldn’t have made much of a difference.JoeCatsJoe wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2025 9:16 amDidn’t he drop like 3 passesFTG_1984 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2025 6:52 amSolid post. Oh yeah, his unique blend of skills and athleticism will be difficult to replace. The poster I was responding to said he was one of the few who showed up from the beginning in the chipper. I definitely didn’t think that watching the game lolLord Vigo wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2025 9:23 amYeah he had a terrible game in the chipper.JoeCatsJoe wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2025 9:16 amDidn’t he drop like 3 passesFTG_1984 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2025 6:52 amSolid post. And that’s not sour grapes just because he lost. He was otherwise a great asset and he’s a significant departure.
