Anyone know if the same company that did the turf for the field will be doing the turf for the indoor practice field?

Same as the football field in Bobcat stadium.

Bobcat athletics is a business to the coaches, school leadership, and players. It's time the fans treat Bobcat athletics as a business too.

Another shot from the East side. Lots of roof work to go.

Didn't the IPF have a concrete floor? A base under turf makes sense, but if was already dirt why have the pile if concrete why put that under dirt?

Part of it has a concrete floor. I'm assuming no concrete under the turf. Maybe an engineer could chime in, but why pour a bunch on concrete under the turf when you don't have to? The gris indoor doesn't have concrete underneath the field.

The only concrete I saw was a footing across the field between each set of columns which acts as a structural component to resist vertical roof loads, etc. There may be some concrete near the walls but i did not see that earlier this fall.

You can see the partial concrete floor In the picture I posted on the previous page. The concrete floor is in the throwing area though. I have my doubts there is a concrete pad under the turf, but I'm no engineer.

Need to tap into some of that California money. Should be no problem to raise 20-50 million.

Anyone had a chance to swing by the facility and see if it's showing any progress on the outside? I can't recall if the goal was to have it ready for spring ball or not?

I recall hearing form someone with the university that sometime in March is the expected completion.

Hmm, March is only 4.5 weeks away. I guess 8.5 if you count all of March. When does spring ball start?

Heard yesterday that the project is now behind. Hoping for it to open sometime in June. Bummed that it won’t be ready for spring ball, however, at least it isn’t another bubble like the griz got.

There are some pics on the previous page and this page that were taken less than two weeks ago.

I don’t know, doesn’t look too bad to me. Plus football, soccer, softball, and track and field have all been using it already. Whether it’s a bubble or different material, it’s finished and being utilized and 68 degrees. And the community schedule is filling up fast and bringing in extra $ to the university for rentals. I’m happy with it.

Both are good facilities although it's hard to argue that what MSU is building isn't better, so Bobcat fans will always poke a little fun at the Griz facility. Griz fans do the same with the football stadiums themselves, both are clearly in the upper echelon of FCS stadiums but yours is still the best of any of them.

Does anyone know if MSU intends to rent out the space to the community as well?
