Completely my opinion but from the little bits and pieces I hear in similar situations these NIL funds are offering large money to get attention and then it comes down to fine print that if they don’t make the team or a top two rotation the deal is no good. He probably got a guarantee from New Mexico and Eck

I guess it remains to be seen if he becomes the #1 guy. We'll never know how much cash he gets. Eck either really sold him well or the other programs saw some red flags and pulled back. It doesn't make sense that he chose UNM over those other schools. He should have just stayed put imo, but the grass evidently seemed greener.

He definitely shouldn't have to worry about losing his job at ABQ. Also closer to home than all the other schools listed except Boise State. Still have to live there and play at a basketball school though.

WOW! This is a shock to me! That has been a no name losing program for as long as I can remember. Never on TV, no fan support and I can't believe they have much of an NIL budget. And Albuquerque??? I lived in Albuquerque for 14 months and worked across the street from the stadium. Not to many places to live in the US worse than Albuquerque.

Considering he is majoring in Aeronautical Engineering to become a hot air balloon pilot, Albuquerque is easily the top college in the nation. Hopefully you will find this as hilarious as him picking UNM!! To each their own though and best of luck to him.
