He has to be to smooth over the attendance (averaging 15k in a stadium that holds 39k), the coaching merry go round and let’s not forget no winning seasons since 2019 (I didn’t look any further.).

Nine winning season in the past 40 years and 12 in the past 50 years. Yeah, and I highly doubt those attendance numbers are anywhere near what they actually get in the stands every game.

Maybe they like what the rez has to offer, more power to them.
If your left, you aren’t right.

It’s very possible.
I would guess they thought there’d be more opportunity when they originally left. That’s my suspicion.

Humphrey certainly had the opportunity to go bigger, he posted SEC/ACC/Big 12 offers. Maybe his priority is to be the clear #1 option on his team, which wasn't going to happen at MSU with Adam and Julius returning. Who knows, probably pointless to speculate. The Cats will be just fine without these guys.BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Sat Jan 25, 2025 6:23 pmIt’s very possible.

Yeah, he did, but we don’t know what was promised regarding playing time or money. Very possible/likely that both of those at the bigger schools were more conditional.MSU01 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 25, 2025 6:27 pmHumphrey certainly had the opportunity to go bigger, he posted SEC/ACC/Big 12 offers. Honestly, him and these other guys going to mediocre MWC teams might be great for our future portallers. The grass isn’t always greener.

Is he better than Damon Bankston? I think he's better than the Idaho kid. But i don't think he's clear cut over Bankston at all. They're a bit different in style so obviously room for both but he went from one crowded RB room where he could wind up 3rd to...a crowded RB room where he could wind up 3rd.MSU01 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 25, 2025 6:27 pmHumphrey certainly had the opportunity to go bigger, he posted SEC/ACC/Big 12 offers. The agents that are recruiting for the NIL are using different words than what ends up being in the fine print. These guys need to learn to look before they leapBelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Sat Jan 25, 2025 6:32 pmYeah, he did, but we don’t know what was promised regarding playing time or money. You'd probably be really disappointed in the outcome.

It's hard to imagine that given an option to go to UNC or UNM, Scottre voluntarily chose UNM. Like you said, offers may have been conditional. Or they may well have pulled their offers. That happens all the time>BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Sat Jan 25, 2025 6:32 pmYeah, he did, but we don’t know what was promised regarding playing time or money. And theres almost no chance it's about the money. Boise States NIL has a total budget of maybe $2m...No way that the Lobos come anywhere close to that. I wouldn't be surprised if the entire Lobos NIL (collective and various outside offers) was under $1m. Thats not a ton once you spread it between 22 starters & another 5-10 special team or key role players.
I think you are right. Its really hard to see how this is an improvement in ANY way for Scottre or Jon...maybe an extra $10-20k/year (which isn't nothing), but its a worse place to get noticed by scouts...and its a worse football environment.
Found this little gem, hopefully it gets some traction with FCS players.

Re: Bobcat Portal News Only
Thats far from clear. G5 schools don't have large NIL collectives. Boise States is around $2m to spread among 20-30 players. Thats a bit, but not a lot, especially for a RB2 or RB3Cataholic wrote: ↑Sat Jan 25, 2025 7:31 pmBut he is getting paid better….GoldstoneCat wrote: ↑Sat Jan 25, 2025 6:51 pmIs he better than Damon Bankston?
