LB seems to be the most glaring area of immediate need for players who can contribute immediately, with both Danny U and O'Reilly graduating. Other than that it will likely depend on which positions take hits from outgoing transfers. MSU signed a big high school class so there aren't a ton of spots available right now.
If they had a really good transfer who was interested, I think they bring him in, but I think the position is pretty strong with young talent who needs to play to develop. LB is a hard position to learn without game snaps.

BECAUSE WE CAN'T HAVE NICE THINGS ANYMORE.
Realistically because he's an absolute beast that would probably have success at the FBS level and I don't think we can compete with even some G5 NIL deals.

I'm sure you're right. Bryce is certainly playing ahead of him. Looks like a real nice haul. I have to give the coaches a lot of credit they are thoughtful in their recruiting. We have a pretty deep team right now so they seemingly got a lot of multi positional players. Like guys that stand out at two or more positions. This gives them a lot if flexibility as injuries come, as the kid grows and matures and need arises. I like the concept and path they took with this class.
I don't see a NEED anywhere but qb only because the next guy is going to be an unknown if you will. I think the guys on roster will be able to orchestrate the offense well, we all just have to know that it won't look like Tommy. Next year I see us having a lot if young guys playing and doing well but learning what these srs already know. We may not go back to back but I see us making a strong run within 1-2 yrs with our current talent as it gains more experience.
Again nice haul... we reloaded well.

Any additional thoughts on Coleman/Hendrick?BobcatBuiltTexan wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2024 11:21 amLooks like a real nice haul. Garrigan has been playing on the two deep the past couple years, but decided to walk on senior day and will be done after this seasontechnoCat wrote: ↑Thu Dec 05, 2024 10:38 amSo just saying this because I literally just realized I'd been spelling it wrong but it's McCullouch. Garrigan is his backup but no idea if he's ready to be the full-time guy. Maybe they put King and Alexander out there on opposite sides. Is the younger King or Woods ready to take over? I actually really like Dodson-Greene but not sure if he has it to be a full-time starter either.BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Thu Dec 05, 2024 10:01 amIn terms of needs, I think QB transfer is probably the highest, and honestly, not that big of a need. MSU has tremendous depth.
I’m not sure they have anybody to replace McCullough. Maybe Jabez Wood? Could see a transfer at WR. If Scottre transfers a big power back would be necessary. I’d never say no to a quality edge or DB, but honestly, there’s no glaring need on the roster.
If Scottre were to transfer we'd better hope Davis is ready to go for next year or maybe we lean on Coon? You're right though the rest are slightly smaller and probably can't handle pounding it up the middle on the regular so some kind of transfer could be good.
Other than that, I think it really depends on who leaves. I feel good with Wilson and Reed at QB. If one leaves, we definitely need someone to come in and at the very least be a solid backup.

Interesting facts about Greysen: runs a 4.54 40 at 255# and an 11.47 100m. Anchors his teams 4x100 relay and runs the 100. Won the 3A state championship in football. Had offers from UC Davis, South Dakota, NDSU, U of Ohio, Northern Illinois and others. Had PWO from U of Minn and Wisconsin.

On the signing day video, Vigen mentioned that he was college roommates with schneider’s HS coach.gtapp wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2024 2:10 pmInteresting facts about Greysen: runs a 4.54 40 at 255# and an 11.47 100m. Very minor correction. I thought he said it wasn’t his FB coach but a coach at his school.wbtfg wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2024 3:29 pmOn the signing day video, Vigen mentioned that he was college roommates with schneider’s HS coach.gtapp wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2024 2:10 pmInteresting facts about Greysen: runs a 4.54 40 at 255# and an 11.47 100m. I see coleman as a safety in college, based off film. I don't see elite speed and, while it isn't his fault, he played a ton of off coverage. Never really backpedaled, played cb more like a safety than a true cb. He does have range and he is long. He is smooth with his hips and when he sees it his change of direction, ie burst, is very good. He shows to be physical when he tackles, knows how to find the ball, plays the ball in the air real well. I see a safety over cb but they'll figure that out when he gets on campus. He's one of those hybrid players that can fit in at nickle, cb, or safety and be very good at any one of them.4KornerKat wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2024 11:27 amAny additional thoughts on Coleman/Hendrick?BobcatBuiltTexan wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2024 11:21 amLooks like a real nice haul. Hendricks fits the mold of our outside wrs. Not all that fast but is a great 50/50 ball guy, he's more like a 70/30 guy. Gets off press decently well and tracks the ball well in the air. Great body control in the air and is strong in the air and is strong through contact on the ground. Physical kind of wr that plays with an attitude on the edge. He doesn't really create a lot of separation but he attacks the ball so well it doesn't really matter and he's good after the catch. He's sneaky quick and elusive while being physically strong.
Cain is a good program in Houston. It's relatively new in the gha but have had some really good players come out of there. They're from an area close to where Carson Williams is from spring/klein area. Known for having really good athletes that play some really good football. They'll bring an edge to the locker room. These boys compete and compete hard on that side of town, dog eat dog. They will bring competition every day and push you to be better.

Okay, getting closer to the National signing day, regular period. Just two high schoolers, Thomas and Rubich (PWO) on the list right now, but it’s possible the Cats get at least one additional commit, maybe two. I’m hoping for you, Major Thornhill, to come North by Northwest to Bozeman. I’m not sure if I’ll get up early for this one, since it’s only a couple of guys, but BN will get the notices posted.
