Re: Seeding for Big Sky Tournament
So...UNCU has the inside track on the no.1 seed? Anyway, I hope if we have to play the griz it's in the Big Sky title game. Seriously, we'd have nothing to lose. The pucker factor on the griz bench would be off the charts! It would be hilarious. I don't think we'll get there, but heck who knows?

The Men’s tournament is so wide open this year. Wouldn’t surprise me to see anyone win it. The portal has really created parity. Virtually everybody recruits a new team every season because of portal departures.
Hopefully the Cats found something yesterday that can propel them to a little tournament run.

Re: Seeding for Big Sky Tournament
I've been saying this all season, I watch UM and UNC play and don't see much of a gap between them and the teams like MSU who are stuck in the middle. MSU will be heavily active in the portal again this year as I believe they've only signed two HS players so far and have at least six outgoing seniors. Does Walker stick around if they continue to bench him for the rest of the year? Seems unlikely.MinnesotaBobcat wrote: ↑Sun Mar 02, 2025 9:00 amThe Men’s tournament is so wide open this year. I think I must be slow or something because I can't find an answer in this thread nor am I smart enough to figure it out. What has to happen for the Cats to play ISU first and then UNC? I like those matchups better than PSU and UM.

Re: Seeding for Big Sky Tournament
Basically, seeds 1, 4, and 5 are on one side of the bracket and seeds 2, 3, and 6 are on the other. If the top 4 all win tomorrow (UNC @ Weber, UM vs EWU, PSU vs Sac, ISU vs NAU) then the top 4 seeds would be:
1) UNC (2-0 record vs ISU wins tiebreaker over UM)
2) UM
3) PSU (1-1 record over UNC wins tiebreaker over ISU)
4) ISU
If the Top 4 seeds hold, an MSU win would give them the 5 seed and they'd have ISU as their QF opponent and UNC their likely SF opponent if they advance that far. Of course, all of that can change if UNC and/or PSU lose tomorrow which could allow UM and/or ISU to move up a line in the seedings.

Great thanks. We need to win and the rest go chalk.MSU01 wrote: ↑Sun Mar 02, 2025 11:48 amBasically, seeds 1, 4, and 5 are on one side of the bracket and seeds 2, 3, and 6 are on the other. If the top 4 all win tomorrow (UNC @ Weber, UM vs EWU, PSU vs Sac, ISU vs NAU) then the top 4 seeds would be:

Re: Seeding for Big Sky Tournament
Isn't it a law by now that we have to play Weber State in the Big Sky tournament? I could see them beating UNC. UNC has had some real stinkers in this tournament over the years. If we beat ISU and get Weber I'd feel pretty good about that.

Re: Seeding for Big Sky Tournament
That does seem to be the rule these days...I love the side of the bracket MSU ended up on, they went 1-3 vs UNC and ISU but easily could have won all four of those games. The Bobcats are 14-17 and 9-9 in conference heading into the Tournament as the #5 seed. Last year the Bobcats were...14-17 and 9-9 in conference heading into the Tournament as the #5 seed.BelgradeBobcat wrote: ↑Mon Mar 03, 2025 11:07 pmIsn't it a law by now that we have to play Weber State in the Big Sky tournament?
