Is this due to a NCAA rule; or is he taking classes at BG and doesn't want to leave; or does he need to be enrolled at MSU?

Re: Justin Lamson Transfers in
Vigen mentioned the why in the interview above. Stanford is on a quarter system and MSU is on a semester system. Lamson still had classes to finish up and couldn't enroll at MSU for the start of the semester. Lamson was also committed to Bowling Green at the start of the MSU semester. Apparently, a player does have to be enrolled at the school to play Spring ball and that makes perfect sense. You can't just have free agent players coming in to practice that aren't enrolled at the school.
On a side note; Lamson mentions his brother Colton in the Chronicle article and I had to look him up. Colton played on the OL at Davis and rocked a pretty awesome mullet too. https://ucdavisaggies.com/sports/footba ... mson/10826

Thanks. I wonder if it’ll have much of an effect during fall camp this summer?AFCAT wrote: ↑Thu Mar 27, 2025 9:30 amVigen mentioned the why in the interview above. I'll bet Lamson is here in early May and will start working out with the team right away. That's only a little over month away.iaafan wrote: ↑Thu Mar 27, 2025 10:01 amThanks. Who is they? Bowling Green? I'm not sure Lamson ever made it to Bowling Green. Vigen mentioned that Lamson was still taking classes at Stanford during winter quarter and Stanfords winter quarter ended on March 21st. Anyway, Lamson will be a MSU soon.iaafan wrote: ↑Thu Mar 27, 2025 10:31 amThey’re on semesters and spring ends on May 2.AFCAT wrote: ↑Thu Mar 27, 2025 10:11 amI'll bet Lamson is here in early May and will start working out with the team right away. Oooooooooh, he’s at Stanford. Well that changes everything. They’re not done until June.AFCAT wrote: ↑Thu Mar 27, 2025 12:04 pmWho is they? Bowling Green? Lamson, Wilson, Warren, Reed, Duchien
At least 3 of these guys want to be and expect to be the starter. Maybe throw Warren in as well. Will be an interesting to see who hits the portal this spring. Any of you in the know have opinions?

If Duchien ends up down the depth chart at QB again this year, what do more in the known people think would be a good position for him to switch to? We've had ex quarterbacks become pretty good LB's and safeties before.Cats and Dogs wrote: ↑Mon Apr 07, 2025 2:28 pmLamson, Wilson, Warren, Reed, Duchien

Re: Justin Lamson Transfers in
They definitely need to find a position for him unless he really blossoms at QB this spring. He's wearing #15 after all. lol, but seriously he's a good athlete and he played safety in high school. His stats don't pop but he probably didn't play a lot on defense since he was so valuable at QB in Florence. I would think strong safety.blueandgoldblitz wrote: ↑Tue Apr 08, 2025 10:36 amIf Duchien ends up down the depth chart at QB again this year, what do more in the known people think would be a good position for him to switch to? Yup strong safety or nickel. He'd compete for playing time right away.iaafan wrote: ↑Tue Apr 08, 2025 11:13 amThey definitely need to find a position for him unless he really blossoms at QB this spring.
