I didn't see anything on O'Reilly. Did he not participate in the Pro Day?
Not according to this.

I googled how many big sky players are in the UFL and here is what AI said back: “Here's a more detailed list:
Michigan Panthers: Kai Nacua, Benthe Versteeg (Sacramento State), Boston Wilson, Brody Grebe
San Antonio Brahmas: Alize Mack
Arlington Renegades: Tomasi Laulile
Houston Roughnecks: Colby Richardson
Eastern Washington: Efton Chism III
Other players: Adam Jones, Marcus Wehr, Matt Corral (Birmingham Stallions), Tommy Mellott, Damon Bankston, Daniel Whelan (UC Davis), Dillon Jones”

I guess they may know something I don’t, or it’s just blatantly wrong.

Benthe Versteeg plays in the UFL? That’s impressive!

Maybe, it’s a new NIl thing. Play some Pro ball in the Spring and college ball in the Fall. Female basketball players get to play pro football too.

If Tommy P is tweeting about Mellott visit updates, its almost a guarantee Tommy is going to either get drafted late or will be a priority UFDA.

That is awesome! I think his chances increased every week to find a spot

Right now none of our guys have a consensus draftable grade Wehr comes the closest and it would not be at all surprising to see someone pick him.

ESPN has Tommy, Wehr, and Grebe (along with Seabass!) all slotted in the 400-420 ranking range. The economics of being a UDFA have really changed though. Last year over 70 of them got over 100K in guaranteed salary.

I think it is most likely that all go undrafted. Wehr will get a nice signing bonus to sign with someone-- would not be at all surprised if it were six figures, whiich is more than late 7th round picks get in guaranteed $. Tommy will probably get a decent signing bonus from someone as well, and it's encouraging that teams are working him out individually. Brody will be less of a hot commodity, but I'd still expect him to get a 90 man roster spot, not just a tryout. And I espect Seabass will be in a similar position to Wehr if not better. He might actually be the most likely to be on a game-day roster next year.

To be accurate Todd is saying a day 3 pick but yes… I expect with his measurables a team will use a 6th or 7th on him rather than risk losing him in FA.

I know several of you have talked about the benefits of a player not being drafted and signing as an UDFA. But selfishly, it looks a lot better for MSU if the boys are drafted.

doesn't matter how, what matters is who makes the roster...

I realize this might make some here vomit in their mouths a little but a great landing spot for Tommy is Dallas. They only had 1 QB on the roster up until a few days ago when they traded for the Patriots 3rd stringer. Further they have an absolute dearth of talent and both the RB and WR positions. Most mock drafts have them taking both a WR and RB in the first 3 rounds. Tommy would have ample opportunity to not only make the team but play.
The other spot I think is Kansas City for pretty much the same reasons although less so.

Well, I hope this is right even though the consensus has him ranked lower. FWIW, I would draft Tommy if I were a GM-- elite intangibles and near-elite measurables. Put him on a team and he'll find some way to contribute.

Thinking SF or Denver, along with those two, would be great spots.

The Vikings scout was at three MSU games this year, along with the Pro Day. She was very interested in Mellott, I’m told.

Cleveland.....its Flaco and ? A solid backup for the slot position. Bad weather in december and an outdoor stadium. They will have the current Heisman, (pick #2 almost certain to be TH from the Buffs) add the current Payton, as much as the Browns suck, it is a really good fit.

The State of Montana is Bobcat country.
missoula....still just 20 miles from Montana.
