I've seen some stuff with Elijah Elliott and Bryant University but nothing firm. Nothing with Marqui or Cole Bullock.
I'm sure coaches are evaluating depth and will bring in a player or two if the need is there and it usually is. Didn't the Cats get Rohan and Eckert in the late portal period?
Edit to add: I know Elijah got his degree so maybe retirement is in the cards for him.

Recruit the best players you can, and with him only having one year left not much of a risk if it doesn’t pan out. See it all the time. If both are better than anybody we got, why wouldn’t you? Look across the nation where a team will bring in an all American high school qb or high valued transfer QB when they already have a stud with two to three years left to play. I’m just guessing they are still recruiting him, not sure if they are anymore though.BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Fri Mar 28, 2025 5:52 pmWhy would they still be recruiting him? Respectfully, we aren’t a big time football program where guys know they’ll make the league even if they have to sit a year or two. We don’t have the money they do to play with either.Hi-Line Bobcat wrote: ↑Fri Mar 28, 2025 6:47 pmRecruit the best players you can, and with him only having one year left not much of a risk if it doesn’t pan out. If MSU brought in a guy like Martinez, Lamson either leaves or is pissed, the young guys feel like they’re not valued, and frankly, why would Martinez want to? He’s gonna want to play, not be in a QB battle.

Re: Bobcat Portal News Only
Seems like a moot point to me whether MSU is still interested in Martinez. If he hadn't accepted the offer yet because (I would guess) he is holding out for an opportunity he perceives as better, then he definitely won't come to MSU now that they've brought in another transfer QB. Unless MSU is the only school interested in him which I assume is not the case.

Not gonna happen- but I hope every team in the country (at any level) refuses to sign him. Just to make a point.
I hope he is never able to play again.

Carter Kraft, former Helena High All-State QB, has entered the transfer portal after spending one year as DB at Sacramento State. His father Shawn, played at MSU from 90-94. Twin sister Avery just transfered from Portland State basketball to Carroll. Hope the Cats give him serious consideration.

Re: Bobcat Portal News Only
Possibly, but I think he has great potential as an athlete to play FCS. I don't follow Carroll football close enough to know their position needs, but did notice they had 4 QBs on last years roster, which would leave them with 3 after Prka graduated. I do know he as a few former teammates playing for Tech, so I wouldn't rule that out as an option either. I don't recall where MSU offered him initially (at least not on his Twitter account), so maybe there's no interest from them. I'm guessing we'll be hearing something official pretty soon.Prodigal Cat wrote: ↑Wed Apr 16, 2025 11:10 amThis feels like coming home to play for Carroll to me.RUACAT wrote: ↑Wed Apr 16, 2025 7:55 amCarter Kraft, former Helena High All-State QB, has entered the transfer portal after spending one year as DB at Sacramento State. Question since I'm not 100% knowledgeable about the transfer portal... if his intent was to go to Carroll rather than another NCAA program, would he be required to enter the portal? Is that the only way for athletes to opt out of their commitments, even when dropping down to NAIA?

Forgot about Huot. Was just looking at last year's roster. He was fun to watch at Helena High. Really thought he'd develop as a good athlete for the Griz.lutecat wrote: ↑Wed Apr 16, 2025 9:34 pmCarroll has Huot who transfered from the griz and recharge now has the Mahelish kid and I probably bothered his name.RUACAT wrote: ↑Wed Apr 16, 2025 12:27 pmPossibly, but I think he has great potential as an athlete to play FCS. Huot is a good qb with room to grow and get better. I’m not saying this to mock UM, but if you need to develop, that’s not the place to go if you’re a quarterback. Their system isn’t set up for that. They’re looking for a Dalton Sneed-type who is ready to roll when he steps on campus.RUACAT wrote: ↑Thu Apr 17, 2025 7:52 amForgot about Huot. Was just looking at last year's roster. UM strung together some good QBs during Hauck’s first run but that was a different era of BSC football.
MSU - 16 team National Champions (most recent 2024); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).
