The absolute white out game against SDSU, even though the Cats got beat.
Chris Murry’s fake stumble pass to clinch the win in Missoula.
Beating the gris in Missoula when they decided to wear Idaho states JV uniforms.
Lulay leading the team to a win against NAU (maybe weber) down two scores with two minutes to go.

Cory Smith opening kickoff return vs gris in '03(?). I fell/slid down about 8 rows from the excitement/beer/snow.
Honorable mention: last year vs the gris...ESG GCG!!!
I NEVER take part in that chant outside of Cat/gris. I was FULL THROTTLE that day. Very cathartic.

And the Lulay comeback you're thinking of was indeed against NAU. I was a sophomore that season, so many people left the stadium late in the 4th quarter and missed the epic end to that game. Not this guy...
That 2003 season was so dang fun.
One of my other favorite memories was the road trip to Wazzu in 2010. Even though my brother and I watched the Cats snatch victory from the jaws of defeat, but seeing DMac in person as a RS freshman in his first collegiate start nearly take down an FBS team was incredible. I had no doubt in my mind after that game he was going to be something special.
Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.

That game still bothers me. We had it won but instead of eating the clock with the run game, we got cute and decided keep passing which resulted in two interceptions allowing WSU to take the lead.grizzh8r wrote: ↑Sun Aug 10, 2025 10:20 pmYou must be in your early 40's...CodyCat wrote: ↑Sat Aug 09, 2025 8:24 pmJoey Thomas running the kickoff back against the gris.

Re: Favorite Bobcat memory
One of my favorite memories isn't a memory.... its forgetting when the last time I missed a Bobcat football game in the last 55 years, even if it was only on the radio or tv.
I remember my Dad taking me to my first game in person when i was in HS in the 60's against #1 San Diego State Aztecs at Gatton Field and the Cats were like #10 or something. Man those Aztec linemen looked big, and they had a strut coming out of the locker room and onto the field. Somebody might have to help me on exact details but I am recalling that we lost 10-3; Haven Moses caught the only td and Jan Stenerud kicked our points.
I also remember seeing Herb Agocs (Bobcat HOF) honored at a game before he passed. He had on a full length raccoon coat and a derby that he wore to about every game.
I remembeer (sp?) being at the game when we gave Boise State their worst beat down in school history...something like 51-7 (?). That was fun because we sure owed them one.
And also.... most of the memories everyone listed above.

Re: Favorite Bobcat memory
Fun story... I was maybe 10 years old and we were playing NAU. Sitting about the 30 yard line right behind their team bench and right in front of the kicking net. Dad, myself, and a buddy were heckling the hell out of their kicker when he was warming up. Guy was a good sport about it but we were relentless all game long. Probably middle 3rd quarter he had a chip shot that would have either tied or given them the lead if I remember correctly. Poor kid missed it by a mile. Before he could get back to the sidelines their coaches moved his practice net to the other side of the team box. Definitely one of my favorite memories as a fan. 2003 Cat/gris or 2021 semi vs SDSU my favorite games I have been to

2003. We broke the streak the year before in Missoula, but I was in the stands (and down on the field after) for this one. The goal posts were torn down and I know part of one ended up in the Crystal, and another chunk may have been in the R Bar.
There's the truth, and then there's what's reported in the papers.

I echo several that have already been posted but these are the ones that I watched in person and still resonate for me.
In 2006 the Cats blocked a punt against Furman in the playoffs for a TD. To this day I still think it was the loudest Bobcat stadium was and that predates the endzone project. It doesn't hurt that I was sitting right in that end of the stadium. It was the first playoff win in long, long time
I've been to exactly one game at Washington griz. The 2018 Cat\griz
I went with one of my partners here at the brewery who is a UM grad.

The pure joy pouring out of Bobcat stadium after the 2021 semifinal. This last one was great but that day against sdsu was electric from start to finish. I'll never forget it. Honorable mention to 2002 cat griz, hearing that place sound like a tomb.

It’s hard to top Joe Roberts in the ‘84 semifinal game. Rhode Island was about to take an almost insurmountable 9-point lead with 4:20 to play.
The forced fumble (Yates/Collins(?))and recovery (Marks) in Missoula is damn close.

Direct snap, small hesitation, run up the middle off center or left guard. I always called it the Travis Jonsen play because every time he was in the backfield you knew that play was coming. I bet they only ran something else about 5% of the time (which would be once or twice in two years). It also worked for a minimum of 8 yards every time and was only really successful when he did it.rfischer94 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 12, 2025 8:59 amThe Travis Jonsen play? Last year's regular season game against Idaho. They played Eck's comments about the fans going to the tailgates at halftime on the video board and the crowd went nuts.

Re: Favorite Bobcat memory
Same (started at MSU in 1998). I talked some friends into going even though we didn't have tickets because I had a feeling about the young gunslinger. We were outside the fence, sheltering from the wind and smoking some MJ. A bartender from the Sky Club came down to have a cig. After chatting, he asked if we want to come up to the bar. We reminded him of the obvious, that we were Bobcat fans. He said, IDGAF about that. So we watched on TV from the comfort of the Adams Center and every time we'd cheer, the Gris fans gave us the "How TF did you get in here look". When the game was winding down, I said, "we gotta rush the field!" so we ran down, getting in against the flood of dejected Griz fans. As we approached the field, we saw a Bobcat fan get trucked by one of the many LEOs on the field and said.... nah.MSU01 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 09, 2025 8:58 pmEasy one for me, being in Washington-Grizzly stadium the day MSU broke the streak in 2002. It was even sweeter because I was also there as MSU finished off its 0-11 season in 2000, wondering how in the world the Bobcats would ever be able to get a win in that series.
Later, walking back to the car and taunting passing Gris fans, we met some UM students who also didn't care about UM football so we were going to go have a puff with them, but my buddy said to keep an eye on them. The guy I was next to (behind my buddy), grabbed him to tell him something. My buddy turned and immediately popped him square in the jaw and dropped him. I jumped in the middle and said, "no, no, no!! He was just gonna tell you something." Needless to say we had to get them really stoned after that.

And just before that we were going crazy about Jesse Jones 80-some yard TD run (screen pass actually,I think). He broke half a dozen tackles and dodged the rest of the defenders. He said he was exhausted as he approached the goal line. Jesse lived in the same dorm as I did and he was a great story teller. After the game and throughout the week as we were hanging out, someone would say, “tell us about the TD again”.

Top 5
1) 2019 Cat/Griz
No Troy, Griz were hot, and we ended up eviscerating them. I was waiting for a blowout win my entire life and it finally happened.
2) 2021 SDSU Semifinal
The feeling was incredible. Tommy was nuts in that game as was Troy.
3) 2002 Streak Ender
Glued to the TV the entire game. Listened to the radio call the final two minutes. A wonderful day.
4) 2024 National Title Game
Yes we lost...but we belonged and just didn't get it done. My first title game in attendance. Atmosphere was amazing. Saw a ton of family and friends.
5) 2010 Cat/Griz
I've never been colder at a game. You had to be there to understand...but it was all worth it when the time hit zero.
